We continue to rapidly innovate and expand our product line and looking for a Product Marketing/Product Manager who will act as the go-to person for assigned product(s). You will be heavily involved in, and claim ownership of processes throughout the product life cycle and own the commercialization roadmap. You will play a lead role in developing everything required to support the product, including positioning and value proposition development and supporting marketing materials. You will primarily work cross-functionally to understand your assigned product(s) and identify the key strategies and tactics required to drive the product success.

The key candidate will be a highly creative self-starter, a strong strategic thinker with the ability to translate insights into relevant and compelling messaging. You should have both a strong technical background, but also a strong marketing background. You should excel at translating product technology attributes and features into relevant and compelling consumer/customer messaging. You should have first-hand experience developing and designing sales collateral and developing strategies and tactics for various product marketing support, like email, customer support materials and sales brochures.
The job duties will include:
Product Marketing:
Positioning & Messaging – Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the product, including technical features, benefits and applicational uses; understanding how to position and message product benefits that resonate with the end user.
Customer/Consumer Knowledge- Build an in-depth understanding of consumer and customer needs to help you build and shape relevant value propositions for the product category you own and lead.
Content & Collateral Design & Development – Conceptualize and develop all content required to commercialize products including sales collateral, website content, and customer support content.
Sales Enablement – Craft value add internal and external sales tools, including presentations, proposals, training, and collateral tools to communicate intended product value propositions that help us win.
Marketing Plan Development – Develop effective marketing plans for the products you support, including identifying key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers.
Product Success Monitoring- track and monitor product success, making recommendations to product engineering on refinements, feature iteration and new ideas.
Measurement & Refinement – Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support your products on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes.
Customer Support – Own the thinking and ideas for identifying what customer support what will be critical for customer support (training videos, materials, etc) key elements the product you own will require for required for customer support
Evangelize customer success stories through written case studies, blog content, video testimonials, and email campaigns.
Demonstrable experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, across geographies, including executive management, operations, finance and product engineering.
Agency Collaboration – Assist in writing agency briefs when required, as well as assist in managing the creative process.
Be a trusted partner to the product team and relay customer, sales and market insights that inform product roadmap decisions and strategy.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred.
5+ years’ experience leading product marketing, product management, or marketing teams within a tech orientated industry or company.
Experience marketing technology products to large or mid-market buyers.
Marketing content design skills, ability to design and develop sales collateral.
Quick learner and self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic fast-paced environment that requires you to wear multiple hats at any given time.
Decisive but flexible, and able to perform and adapt quickly in a dynamic, rapidly changing, and fast-paced environment.
Ability to lead and communicate within cross-functional team environments.
Team player with excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties.
Great interpersonal skills with the ability to formulate strong relationships internally and externally.
Excellent verbal, written and communications skills required.
Critical thinker and problem-solving ability to deal with changing situations and environments.
Solid work ethic with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
This is a salaried position with a compensation range of $80k – $130k per year, depending on experience, with rich benefits, and stock options. Travel expectations is 20-40% of the role. All travel will be paid by the company. This role is based in the Portland office, but for a great fit, we’re open to remote work if requested.
