The Medical Project Manager will work on a project basis for the Sanofi Pasteur Medical Operations & Effectiveness (MOE) team. They will be responsible for providing project management expertise and support on pre-defined projects. Examples include process-improvement and transformation projects, and project management support for Sanofi Pasteur medical activities at scientific & medical conferences.
The Project Manager will set and develop the operational aspects of the project, develop, and monitor timelines, milestones and project metrics and is responsible for managing the projects from an operational perspective from the development and initiation phases through implementation and completion within scope defined by the Sanofi Pasteur team, who remains responsible and accountable for the project content.
Perform key projects tasks to ensure the progress, such as: create or ensure the required documents are completed, ensure necessary approval steps are completed, manage documents on the relevant platform (Smartsheet, Veeva, etc…); follow-up with Procurement/Customer engagement teams.
Present project overview and status at management meetings.
Collaboration
Works closely with and as part of project teams
Establishes and maintains efficient working relations with all internal and external key stakeholders mainly MOE, Medical Franchises, Medical Regions.
Is aware of sensitive and confidential nature of information and/or situations in a cross-cultural environment
Collaborates with MedHub teams as appropriate to ensure best practices and knowledge sharing
Participates in project improvement activities
People
Seek alignment with team members and key stakeholders to ensure timely and quick transition between every project step in line with approved processes and corresponding SOPs
Support team initiatives and objectives, identify and recommend process improvements and initiatives.
Performance
Effective and efficient management of assigned projects so as to complete projects on time and, where applicable, on budget.
Effective management of multiple projects in parallel.
Process
Responsible for project setup executing and closure on time, within scope, and according to plan within the requested quality specifications
Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business practices and corresponding SOPs to improve the project processes
Uses broad knowledge of project management techniques and methods, and discernment to decide the most appropriate techniques and methods for each project
Supports contract management with the establishment of contract with internal and external vendors
Organizes logistical solutions according to the project needs
Stakeholders
Builds and maintains solid partnerships with assigned internal stakeholders to better develop, coordinate, direct, and facilitate internal work and communications
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies / Language
Knowledge of learning and development best practices
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Stakeholder management (Diplomatic, Intercultural sensitivity, effective leadership on peer-to-peer level)
Rigorous and able to deal with ambiguity and conflicting priorities
Literate with MSoffice (including Teams, Sharepoints), project management tools such as Smartsheet. Knowledge of Veeva and Envision pharma digital tools is a plus,
Qualifications
Degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., BS, MS, PhD, DVM).
8+ years of experience in expanding roles in with substantial project management experience within pharmaceutical industry
Knowledge of project planning tools and management science.
Knowledge of international guidelines and regulations (e.g., Transparency)
Management and/or leadership experience is preferred
Requirements of the job
Proven leadership and ability to coordinate several activities and stakeholders.
Expertise in project management and ability to integrate new SOPs and trainings on tools to be used during all steps as previously described
Ability to network and communicate across diverse functions and to work effectively in a matrix organization.
Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
Anticipate risks and propose mitigation plans, ability to propose creative solutions to operational/strategic issues.
Influencing skills to motivate team members for best performance and outcomes.
Excellent communication skills – written and oral.
Fluent in English
