An exciting opportunity for a Senior Administrator is now available to work in the Complex Infrastructure Programme (CIP) at National Highways.
We receive large volumes of correspondence, which peak and vary at different stages of the project. All of these need responses which are timely, accurate, well written and in line with our agreed messages and processes.
You will be working closely with the communications and project teams to provide consistent, high quality written responses. You will be helping to identify emerging themes in correspondence to improve the information publicised by the project.
The Senior Administrators are located at various National Highways offices, so occasionally you will need to travel.
What you’ll be leading on
Responding to correspondence from internal and external customers in a professional manner in alignment with National Highways’ defined processes, deadlines and standards
Prioritising own work according to business need, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
Developing quality responses to Freedom of Information requests, public and ministerial correspondence working with the relevant technical team or National Highways team
Maintaining effective day to day working relationships with the project and technical leads to ensure the escalation of issues and continuous improvement of correspondence service
Working collaboratively with other Correspondence Officers in order to improve correspondence quality, team performance and share lessons learned
Tracking, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on correspondence and emerging themes
To be successful you’ll need
Experience in producing high quality, written communication to members of the public and other stakeholders
Experience in communicating complex issues using plain English
Experience in using office software products
The ability to work effectively with others in an office environment or deliver efficient customer service
The ability to work independently and prioritise workload while maintaining attention to detail
Proven ability to follow company procedures and policies
A bit about us
The Complex Infrastructure Programme (CIP) is responsible for some of the largest and complex ‘Tier 1’ projects of national significance. Our projects are in the Government Major Projects Portfolio due to their level of investment, complexity of stakeholder and political landscape and importance as elements of national infrastructure that will lead to economic growth.
Some of the schemes we are accountable for include the A303 Amesbury to Berwick Down (Stonehenge), the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement and the A428 Blackcat to Caxton Gibbet. CIP is also accountable for the development of a large Pipeline of projects, some of which will be the new road schemes that will be delivered in the next Roads Investment Period (3). CIP is part of the Major Projects Directorate within National Highways.
