Senior Commissioning Officers lead and develop projects that improve the lives of Wiltshire residents. Our Commissioning teams deliver services across the age range of residents to meet a range of needs, including educational, physical and mental health needs.
At Wiltshire, we take work life balance seriously, therefore we actively encourage hybrid working to be part of the new ‘normal’ working pattern. This means being in Wiltshire 5 days a week is not essential.

About the role
Work alongside the Commissioning Managers and Assistant Commissioners by taking the lead of complex projects within our Families and Children’s commissioning team.
You will be supported to seek innovative and effective ways to improve the outcomes of Wiltshire residents
You will use your extensive commissioning knowledge and experience to enable individuals to live as independently as possible for as long as possible
You will work collaboratively with our communities and partners to ensure the right care at the right time is available to improve the lives of individuals.

About the team and about you
In the Families and Children’s Commissioning team we work across the Council, working with the Education and Skills team, the Social Care team, our Commissioning colleagues, and plenty of other teams.
We also work and engage with partners outside the Council including the Clinical Commissioning Group, The Wiltshire Parent Carer Council, and a wide range of service providers. We commission services from 0 to 25 year olds, and are responsible for ensuring there are sufficient Early Years childcare places, and social care placements for all of the children and young people of Wiltshire who need one.
About you
We are calling on professionals with a passion for social care and support services. You will bring with you knowledge and experience of Commissioning services as well as a customer focused and drive focus on ensuring the residents of Wiltshire have the right services at the right time, catering to their needs.
You will be working with a team of Assistant Commissioner, Senior’s and Commissioning managers, in what is a fast paced role, therefore requiring you to be agile, a great communicator and able to lead on multiple projects.
