Senior iOS Engineer at Biosite Systems

Following our recent success in the UK market, Biosite is expanding its team. Joining one of our core development teams, this engineer will develop new functionality for our existing products, focusing on mobile development for iOS. Our engineers are flexible, so while you may specialise in one programming language or platform, we are also looking for someone willing to learn new technologies and languages where necessary to participate as a full member of our Agile team.

The position will report directly to the Technical Director and is fully remote. The successful applicant will be expected to be based in the United Kingdom.
Main responsibilities and tasks
Develop requirements in collaboration with your team and our product owners
Develop working software
Work closely with your team to minimise work in progress, resolve problems, and deliver value
Review and approve others code, identifying potential bugs or maintenance issues
Participate in planning and retrospective meetings, asking appropriate questions, and suggesting ways we can improve our process
Collaborating with our product owners to ensure features deliver maximum value
Learn about our products and technologies
Learn about other potentially useful new technologies
Learn about agile values and incorporate them into your day-to-day work
Key working relationships (internal and external)
Close collaboration with the product owner on feature requirements
Close collaboration with the team on the development of new features, including code review and pairing
Collaboration with other members of the wider engineering team on best practices
Presenting results to stakeholders as part of the Scrum process
Reporting team and individual performance to the technical director
Person profile: essential qualifications, experience, knowledge and behaviours
Substantial experience developing commercial mobile applications for the iOS platform
A technical degree
Passionate about delivering quality products
Well organised, punctual, and a strong communicator
Desirable
Experience working in cross-functional, collaborative agile environments
Experience with Swift
Experience with Linux
Experience interfacing with hardware
Experience synchronising data to mobile devices
Experience of working remotely

Flexible hours, 40 hrs/week with core hours from (10am – 4pm London)
24 days leave, increasing to 30 days with service
