Job Purpose and Overview
Appfire is looking for an experienced support engineer with software development and technical support skills. If you like to work with customers but don’t want to lose your programming skills then this is a role for you. You will help solve customer business problems, researching their issues and recommending Groovy and Java-based software solutions, that will have an immediate impact on their daily work. You will work as part of the Support and Sustaining team to help answer questions on many of our popular applications in the Atlassian ecosystem.
Where you’ll make an impact
Many Appfire apps are highly extensible and customers can extend and customize our apps using Groovy and Java. You will be responsible for effective troubleshooting, providing custom software solutions, and configuration of Appfire Apps in both Atlassian Cloud and Data Center environments while enabling continuing innovation within the support engineering infrastructure.
You will feel the satisfaction of solving real customer problems using the code you developed and delivered. Your work will have an immediate impact on both existing customers and customers trialing Appfire applications.
What You’ll Accomplish
Diagnose, configure, troubleshoot and solve software configuration issues associated with Appfire Apps in the Atlassian ecosystem consisting of Jira, Confluence, etc.
Write well-designed, well-structured, performant, maintainable custom code using Java, Groovy, Nunjucks, Javascript, HTML, etc.
Solve customer business configuration issues with innovative software solutions involving Appfire apps, Atlassian, and other vendor application libraries
About You
Excellent Java/Groovy programming
Customer problem solving and support skills
Database and scripting skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Atlassian products (https://www.atlassian.com) and Appfire products is highly desirable.
Groovy Certified Engineer (Preferred)
Java and/or Groovy programming experience (required)
Minimum 2+ software development and customer support/QA experience
2 – 5+ years of total experience working as technical support and/or application software engineer.
B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science, EE, EECS, EEE, CSE, MIS, or a comparable discipline.
