Job summary
As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will secure and develop strategic partnerships with major media and technology companies in Latin America, Mexico, and Canada that support Amazon Devices (i.e., Fire TV, Amazon Echo, and Fire tablets). These partnerships will revolutionize the way people watch and find content on devices throughout their homes.
You will be required to handle multiple high-priority projects simultaneously and effectively negotiate terms that benefit our customers. The successful candidate will have experience working with senior level external partners, strong negotiation acumen, excellent verbal and written communications skills, experience working with a broad array of stakeholders (e.g. product, marketing, legal), and a track record of delivering high quality results.
Please note, will consider candidates based near an Amazon Hub, including Seattle, Bay Area, HQ2 (DC area), or NYC.
Key job responsibilities
Identify, evaluate, negotiate and manage strategic partnerships and marketing deals that delight customers and support strategic objectives on a global basis.
Work closely with internal engineering, product and marketing teams to identify, evaluate and drive feature adoption among top partners.
Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of partnerships and work with appropriate leaders and across all functional areas of Amazon to execute on the relationships.
Drive partner success by working closely with cross-functional teams including: Legal, PR, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Advertising.
Prepare business reviews for internal and external senior management teams.
Recruit and mentor other business development and partner management professionals.
About the team
The Content & App Partner Engagement (CAPE) team manages the global portfolio of third party (3P) app and game developers (e.g. Netflix, Roblox, Spotify) worldwide that distribute content on Amazon branded and 3P branded devices with screens (Fire TV, FTV Edition, FTV Automotive, Fire Tablets, Echo Show and Android Mobile Devices via Amazon Appstore) and acts as the ‘voice of the developer’ for internal Amazon teams.
Experience executing deals in media industry
Experience executing deals in Latin America, Mexico, and/or Canada
Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing successful large-scale and complex partnerships
Experience executing technology, services, and marketing partnerships
Consistently meets and exceeds quantified goals
Personal passion for (and early adopter of) emerging consumer technologies – committed to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledge
Ability to work in fast-paced environment and resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
Strong oral and written communication skills along with a proven ability to influence others internally and externally
Spanish or Portuguese fluency
