We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our LPSD team based in Belfast. Working with others across our organisation, you would be directly involved and at the heart of our business, participating on strategic projects driving continuous improvement, efficiency gain and cost reduction.
As Supply Chain Manager at Caterpillar, you will manage and lead all facility supply chain and Logistics activities including strategic process transformation, supply chain planning, material requirements management, inventory management, demand and orders management, supply chain performance and logistics. You will also ensure linkage between process planning and execution.
The Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) has 12 manufacturing facilities and Five engineering facilities globally. We deliver operational excellence in manufacturing large power systems and drivetrain components. The large engine platforms designed and manufactured by LPSD are used in oil & gas, electric power, marine, rail and Cat machine applications.
LPSD also designs and manufactures drivetrains and the four key engine systems – fuel systems, air systems, after treatment systems and cooling systems – that determine the cost and performance trajectory of most Caterpillar engines and machines. The LPSD team includes Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety and Operations Managers who align to deliver superior safety, quality, velocity and cost to our business partners.

As Supply Chain Manager in Springvale you will:
Provide leadership and direction to supply chain and logistics teams responsible for the management of all facility supply functions in alignment with the Order-to-Delivery processes and KPI.
Supply chain span of control includes supply chain processes, planning, material requirements, inventory management, demand and orders management, supply chain performance and logistics.
Accountable of the development of the supply chain and logistics organisational design, key enterprise inventory metrics, point of use material availability, component availability and reduction of cash to cash cycle time.
Ensure facility production schedules provide proper product availability to dealers/customers while balancing manufacturing constraint issues.
Accountable for supply chain performance improvements, including supplier certification and the supplier S&OP process
Ensure support for New Product Introduction/ New Source Introduction projects is committed and monitored – along with providing forecasting to support project budgeting
Accountable for departmental budget including forecasting, both in terms of expenses, logistics and inventory
Manage the team and relationships with other departments to ensure that all compliance documentation and process governance is in place.
Essential Criteria:
A minimum third level qualification preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Management or Industrial Engineering. Candidates who cannot demonstrate this must have significantly more relevant experience
Extensive progressively responsible supply chain related experience
Knowledge and experience with 6 Sigma
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems
Demonstrable ability to establish and monitor policies and guidelines
Solid product knowledge and knowledge of manufacturing processes
Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
Desirable Criteria:
APICS CPIM or CSCP National Certification
Experience in inventory management and control, purchasing, parts distribution and/or supply chain/logistics.
Experience in information technology, supply chain logistics, global purchasing, operations and/or quality
