And have an exciting opportunity as a Support Worker to join our team in our Connections Service based in Kirkintilloch on a 2 year Secondment. Our aim is help people who require support to live a happy, safe, and fulfilling life.
Connection offers short term social support to people who may be experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems such as depression, stress, and anxiety. We provide one to one basis with the goals of assisting people to look at the Practical, Social, Educational, Emotional and Supported self -help to assist them on their recovery.
The key tasks of a Support Workers role involve being confident providing one to one support, good communication skills, patience and understanding, non-judgemental , Supervisory skills, liaising with other services, research and signpost individuals to people that can help them on their recovery, provide graded exposure and assist in getting people back into the community.
We also provide a range of different groups such as Relaxation, Peer Support, Stress and Well-being and Walking groups. We are networking with different agencies, as well as creating / working accurately to care plans and completing risk assessments.
Each person we support is unique so each support role will be different to the next, giving you the chance to really make a difference in that individuals life.
Due to the service requirements, we are ideally looking for candidates who are caring, competent and knowledgeable and experienced in supporting individuals with Mental Health care.

Please note that Care workers have been absolutely critical to our pandemic response, giving vulnerable people the care they need and avoiding further pressure falling on the NHS. Therefore, the Scottish Government are funding both SSSC registration and PVG checks for any new staff joining the social care workforce till 31.03.2022.
