Role Overview
The role of technician is ideal for those starting their career within the infrastructure industry and build their knowledge and experience by supporting a wider team with engineering projects. The role is to assist in the preparation, planning, design and delivery of capital schemes, including engineering drawings, design, reports and calculations in line with the Annual Plan and achieving the contractual KPI’s.
The successful candidate will require openness and drive for the adoption of innovation and technology to enhance air quality, reduce carbon emissions, drive safety and the positive wellbeing for employees and those who we interact with.

Skills:
Ability to prioritise own work, to support the businessAbility to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partiesGood written and verbal communications and interpersonal skillsDesirable – AutoCad SkillsDesirable – A understanding of Health & Safety legislationDesirable – A basic understanding of highway design and highway construction methodologiesDesirable – A basic understanding of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges & Manual for Streets
Qualifications:
Desirable – BTEC in construction (Level 3) or Diploma in construction (Level 3)
Desirable – Full driving licence
Experience:
Experience in a Highways role is desirable
You would be responsible for

Understands the overall functions, aims and directions of Transport for Buckinghamshire, and how their specific area of responsibility fits into those objectives.
