Description : We are an exiting opportunity for Assistant Cluster Maintenance Manager to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished individual looking for a progressive and challenging role. You will be required to oversee three of our sites DoubleTree by Hilton Woking, Holiday Inn Express Heathrow T5 and Mercure London Heathrow Hotel.You will be working hand in hand with Cluster Maintenance Manager and will oversee day-to-day running of the hotel maintenance by taking overall responsibility for the carrying out of routine and non-routine maintenance tasks.We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who will have knowledge of preventative and curative maintenance – plumbing, carpentry, decoration and electrics, ideally with knowledge of the hospitality or travel and tourism industry however this is not essential.As Assistant Cluster Maintenance Manager you will be able to deal with a variety of issues on a day to day basis, multitasking and prioritising as necessary. You will be committed to maintaining a fully functioning and efficient Hotel environment, with emphasis on forward planning, routine maintenance programmes and prompt repairs.Key Responsibilities Support Cluster Maintenance Manager in day to day running of Maintenance department at each property by prioritising and co-ordinating tasks to achieve required standardsSupervising Maintenance team at each propertyAssist in monitoring budget and control expenses with a focus on energy management, preventive maintenance, and capital planning.Support maintenance of entire hotel including all guest areas, plant equipment, kitchen, public areas, back of the house and external.Commitment to preventative maintenance throughout the hotelEnsure adherence to all statutory regulations and fire codes by regularly reviewing policies and safety procedures for each project.Ensure that any tests and inspections required on equipment are carried out and records maintained. .Liaise closely with local Fire Brigade and EHO officials to ensure good relationships and total compliance to legislations and licensing regulationsFulfil 24 hour call out duties in event of an emergency at any of the hotelContribute to guest satisfaction standards by ensuring that technical support services quickly address, and where possible, anticipate, individual needs.Ensure the safety and comfort of guests and that any requests for service are handled in a courteous and efficient fashion.Ensure a technically competent engineering staff by mentoring, training and developing a motivated, well-qualified maintenance assistant.Carry out regular work sampling studies within the department and evaluate the performance and productivity of assistants.Maintain the condition of the physical assets of each hotel by carrying out any upgrading and project work in liaison with architects, interior designers and management.Ensure the effective operation of all the mechanical and electrical systems and equipment by implementing and managing a preventative maintenance program. Closely monitor the condition of the physical property and equipment by conducting continual inspections of the building.Ensure that preventative maintenance schedules are in operation and regularly upgraded.Ensure the cost effectiveness and technical efficiency of all services performed by outside contracts by close supervision.Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with contracts, leases, services agreements and warranties.Ensure the quality of all work completed by both employees and external contracted staff adheres to the standards of good engineering practice.Assist in monthly monitoring of the hotel hot and cold water systems and relevant documentationSelf Management · Comply with hotel rules and regulations and provisions contained in the employment handbook.· Comply with company grooming and uniform standards.· Comply with timekeeping and attendance policies.· Actively participate in training and development programs and maximise opportunities for self development.Customer Service · Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards to include: -· Being attentive to guests· Accurately and promptly fulfilling guest requests· Understand and anticipate guest needs· Maintain a high level of knowledge which will enhance the guest experience· Demonstrate a service attitude that exceeds expectations· Take appropriate action to resolve guest complaints· Appreciate the dynamic nature of the hotel industry and extend these service attributes to all internal customers.· Be able to promote the hotel (and IHG generally) products and services.· Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge about all IHG hotels in your region.Health Safety & Security · Demonstrate an understanding and an awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety.· Familiarise yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures.· Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of your line manager.General · Comply with the company corporate code of conduct at all times.· Familiarise yourself with the company vision and values which link to our model of desired behaviours that we expect all employees to display.· Perform other tasks at the level of the role as directed by your line manager in pursuit of the achievement of business goals.· Desire and ability to improve your knowledge and abilities through on-going training.· Ability to work as part of a diverse team with colleagues from different viewpoints, cultures and countries.Experience and qualifications requirement· Minimum 3 years’ experience as Assistant Maintenance Manager required in a similar establishment with opportunities for on-the-job training available.· Engineering degree preferred.
