Position Summary:

The Web Coordinator position is within the Creative Agency, part of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. The position is responsible for the main UAS website and associated subsites, ensuring their compatibility with UAS website standards, accessibility compliance, overall site design quality and visual appeal, adherence to branding guidelines, site useability, organization, and architecture. The position coordinates, directs, and consults with UAS campuses, schools, and departments to enhance the web presence and ensure quality control. This recruitment is open internally to current UA employees or those otherwise eligible to apply to internal postings.

Duties:

Coordination- -Serve as the lead coordinator for the Web Development Group, consisting of the Web Developer and CMS contributors. -Maintain the Content Management System web page and Website Style Guide as a first point of contact for new users. -Serve as the lead coordinator for the Website Strategy Committee which serves as an advisory body with representation from all three UAS campuses.Maintenance- -Respond to daily requests for website work from the university community. -Under the oversight of the Creative Manager and in conjunction with the Web Developer, ensure website integrity and Banner integration. -Manage annual licensing, periodic updates, maintenance, and training.

Operations: -Assist a wide variety of users (campus, school, and department-level users) in planning and preparing content for the website. -Manages the Content Management System (CMS) and coordinates the CMS contributors throughout the university. -Train Content Management System (CMS) contributors. Create and update training materials and procedures. -Represent web interests in strategy development, including but not limited to planning site design, assisting with data analytics on a wide variety of projects, collaborating on marketing-specific projects, etc. -Functions as a project manager and works closely with the Web Developer who is primarily responsible for programming the site and Banner integration. -Ensure regular updating of university web pages and subsites. This includes but is not limited to the class schedule search, academic catalog, and academic and event calendars.

The Web Coordinator is responsible for the main UAS website and associated subsites, ensuring their compatibility with UAS website standards, accessibility compliance, overall site design quality and visual appeal, adherence to branding guidelines, site useability, organization, and architecture. The Web Coordinator manages the CMS and coordinates the CMS contributors throughout the university. The position communicates directly with UAS staff and faculty and leads several groups and committees. This position represents web interests in strategy development, assisting the Social Media and Marketing Strategy Coordinator to implement campaigns with tracking features to gather data for strategic analysis for marketing. Of the three categories of Operations, Maintenance, and Development, the Website Coordinator is primarily responsible for Operations and Maintenance. Operations consist of regular updating of university web pages, sites, and subsites. Maintenance is responding to daily requests for website work from the university community.

This position works closely with the Website Developer, who is primarily responsible for programming within the site, developing new templates, and Banner integration.

The Web Coordinator position is within the Creative Agency, Enrollment Management, and Student Affairs. The Creative Manager is the position supervisor and the final approver of major web content.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: –

-Enjoy communication and working with a wide variety of people. Ability to communicate web knowledge and web strategy and goals with the University community and technical staff.

-Knowledgeable about copyright as relates to website usage and able to prepare content for web-optimized delivery. Experience with Adobe XD, user navigation, prototyping, and testing skills preferred.

-Experience with Google Analytics 4 preferred.

-Previous experience in the administration of Content Management Systems preferred.

-Attention to detail such as spelling and grammar is of utmost importance. Excellent communication, both written and oral, and organizational skills.

-Good time management skills are essential.

-Knowledge of university and state mandates for accessibility is preferred.

-Specialized tools and software include: Cascade Server-CMS, SiteImprove QA Software, Touchnet, and Zopim web chat, and a working knowledge of HTML, Javascript, and XML is preferred.

-Experience with Adobe XD, user navigation, prototyping, and testing skills preferred.

-Experience working successfully with diverse populations.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

Three to five years designing and maintaining a public, governmental, university, or comparable website.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Communications, or related field and three years of progressively responsible experience relevant to the position, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

SALARY INFORMATION:

This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
