Description : LHH is recruiting a a Business Development Manager for the Employment, Labor and Workforce Management Practice of a national law firm. This innovative firm seeks a team player with a strong work ethic who is able to lead strategic efforts, mentor and develop others, and work well with Firm attorneys. This is an opportunity to be part of a collaborative business development team, while working closely with the firm’s marketing-savvy attorneys. Responsibilities:
Serve as a senior advisor to practice leadership to drive business growth through the development and execution of strategic priorities/marketing and business development tactics. Creation and management of all content for Practice Steering Committee Meetings.
Develop business development plans for practice teams and track progress towards achieving goals. Leverage market research, competitive intelligence and internal data to formulate such plans. Development of creative marketing and business development strategies regarding ideas for one-on-one business development, events, campaigns, thought leadership, and video content.
Work alongside two Business Development Managers who handle portions of the practice’s business development and marketing activities to collaborate for success.
Management, oversight, and execution of pitches and RFPs; managing production, developing and finalizing content; guiding process and workflow in coordination with other departments and attorneys.
Prepare detailed research and analyses of targets, and drafting and editing materials; and monitoring and tracking trends and report results and oversight of work experience database.
Digital marketing – work in coordination with the Communications team on strategy and execution of the Employment Law This Week video series, and as appropriate, with other team members and attorneys.
Management and coordination of updates for the Wage & Hour Laws app, as appropriate, with other team members and attorneys.
Ability to coach attorneys regarding business development opportunities through the firm’s annual business development meeting process and on a daily basis.
Ensure that practice-specific marketing collateral, brochures, and practice group descriptions are kept updated using the team’s resources.
Oversee and execute development and collection of information for Chambers USA, The Legal 500, and other surveys, appropriately managing experience and other information for the submissions; and working directly with the practice chairs to gain approval of the submissions.
Develop strong working relationships with key partners and attorneys in the practice areas and with other members of the Marketing and Business Development team.
Management and execution of events including in-person or virtual events, webinars, and other meetings including the Annual Workforce Management Briefing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Business, English, or Communications
Minimum of 12 years of experience in the corporate environment, an association, or a professional services firm
Team player with a strong work ethic
Aptitude to mentor and develop other staff
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong project management and organizational skills
Ability to work professionally with the firm’s attorneys and staff
Solid analytical abilities
Proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
