Job Description
Responsible for maintaining and continually improving the performance, capacity, availability, continuity and integrity of the Commission’s Server and Cloud infrastructure in-line with agreed SLA. These services are a combination of internally provisioned services, cloud hosted services and services from 3rd party suppliers.
Leading on the technical design solutions for timely maintenance of systems, hardware/firmware/software and the review of security practices including the patching and update of all desktop, network, server components and the firmware of any hardware, ensuring that patches are impact assessed prior to deployment and testing.
Leading on Cloud technology design, implementation and maintenance for Microsoft Azure technologies
Leading on Cloud solution budget forecasting and optimisation
Leading on Cloud based security controls for Microsoft Azure
Collaborating with teams (App Support (DevOps), Software Development, Software Testing, Service Delivery) to ensure their requirements for sufficient environments are delivered in a timely manner.
Plan which adheres to the IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) process
Undertaking ITIL based Incident, Problem and Change processes
The Successful Applicant
Lead project architecture and design
Lead project planning and implementation
Strong third-party relationship and experience
Ability to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Design build and management of Azure based cloud services to include IaaS, PaaS and SaaS implementation.
Building and maintaining significant multi-environment corporate Azure tenant.
Proven experience in managing and implementing Exchange Online/Office 365
Microsoft SQL Server Management – provisioning, performance and capacity management
Proven experience in the provision of 3rd level technical support to a Microsoft Windows computing environment.
Leads Building, provisioning, maintaining and supporting Microsoft Windows server covering at least two of the following: Windows Server 2008R2, Windows Server 2012R2 & Windows server 2016 Operating Systems.
Experience of Active Directory
IP Networking and Routing including DHCP, DNS and the ability to troubleshooting IP networking issues
ITIL based Incident, Problem and Change Mgmt.
Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange Online/Office 365 and Office 365 SaaS and Windows 10 technologies
Detailed working knowledge of Cloud hosted technologies preferably Microsoft Azure.
Detailed knowledge in the deployment and management of Microsoft Azure Cloud platforms
Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Azure Firewalls, Azure Gateway, Azure NSG’s and VNets
Detailed knowledge of Cloud security controls such as Azure permissions, security monitoring, identity management, key vaults and SPN’s
