Description : The Director of IT must have superior (and contemporary) experience and knowledge of IT infrastructure, ITSM platforms, productivity and collaboration applications, as well as deep experience related to hospitality software and applications. Additionally, this individual must possess superior IT project management experience and skills and be familiar with various IT project management methodologies. Finally, they must have a fundamental understanding of cyber security, data privacy and overall cyber/compliancy regulations.
This position will be responsible for ensuring timely and quality IT services for all hotel users, as well as ensure technical support requests are handled properly by the Managed Service Provider. This individual will also oversee hotel applications, manage IT vendors and implement appropriate policies and procedures as they related to hotels. They will also oversee Change/Configuration Management and Service Management.
This individual will require outstanding project & issue management experience, as well as superior written and verbal communication skills. Further, it will be essential that this individual be capable of building effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders with a focus on transforming resort IT into a highly responsive and trusted business partner.
Development and execution of Resort’s strategic technology plan – Working with resort operations, ownership, strategic partnerships and corporate IT.
IT project management, as well as effective prioritization of all technology tasks, projects and incident resolution. Further, maximize utilization of IT project management and planning platforms.
Maintain a results-driven IT service environment and ensure the resort IT team is a trusted business partner for all resort operating partners, as well as hotel ownership and corporate IT.
Maintain a highly stable and secure technology environment by employing superior cyber security and data privacy best practices. Ensure all resort operations are fully compliant with cyber security, CIS, PCI, GDPR, CCPA and other data privacy regulations.
Maintain and utilize strong processes to track technical issues and drive vendor accountability. Ensure that SLAs are being met by third-party IT service and software providers. and that IT Support is fulfilling its business objectives.
Identify systemic infrastructure and application issues and develop/execute effective remediation plans.
Work closely with third-party IT partners related to resort systems including (Agilysys) PMS, POS, Golf, Retail and Membership/CRM. Additionally, work closely with guest-facing technology providers to deliver a state-of-the-art guest experience, including a best-in-class mobile app and web experience.
Maximize resort collaboration and team effectiveness through leveraging the Office 365 suite of products.
Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies which may be applicable to all aspect of the Resort
Develop and enforce key IT processes, knowledgebase and SOPs.
Turnkey development and oversight of the Resort operating and capital budgets.
Effective use of ITSM and other IT management platforms to ensure the highest level of IT operations efficiency, service, security and stability. Additionally, develop and maintain appropriate IT performance reporting for executive/leadership consumption.
Carries out other duties as directed by both hotel leadership and ownership, as well as corporate IT.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Hospitality – Seasoned hotel/hospitality technology leader with a fundamental understanding of resort options and technology.
Knowledge – Provides knowledge on Information Technology and overall Service Management processes
Leadership – Serves in a support role for the organization on areas concerning technologies and other spheres of influence
Analytical Skills – Demonstrates strong analytical skills including the ability to troubleshoot and identify opportunities for improvement for hotel application related issues
Technical Skills – Have a working knowledge of various IT platforms such as VMware, Microsoft Server platforms, Windows 10, End Point Protection, Cyber Security and Compliancy platforms, ITSM platforms to support third-party application patch management, imaging solutions, disaster recovery, advanced Active Directory and networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)
Hospitality and Resort Systems Experience – Deep experience with various hotel applications including PMS, POS, S&C, Spa, Golf, Membership/CRM, guest-facing technology and Back Office accounting/systems. Direct experience with Agilysys is highly desired; however, relevant experience would be acceptable
Security Knowledge – Deep experience and understanding of Cyber Security best practices as well as PCI and other data/privacy compliance standards.
Superior understanding of Office 365 and other productivity and collaboration platforms.
