About the role
Careem is looking for a Director of IT Engineering who can provide transformative leadership and hands-on technical engineering and ownership of the growing IT, Digital transformation and Engineering program, across Careem.
You will work closely with our Engineering, Human Resources, Finance and Product Management groups to help build robust systems responsible for serving our customers and colleagues.

What you’ll do
Design and implement a comprehensive digital transformation strategy to deliver continuous improvements on our Care technology, corporate applications, on-premise infrastructure, network and systems
Inform and oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy for IT and Digital transformation
Develop and execute robotic process automation (RPA) and intelligence automation to drive the digital transformation strategy
Develop and execute strategy in partnership with Cyber team and execute zero trust architecture model to secure the endpoints
Partner cross-functionally with key business partners to influence and ensure alignment and support for the IT Architecture, IT Engineering and IT operations mandate
Align and collaborate with fellow leaders of our Engineering, Fusion Center Operations and Risk on a strategy to support their functions with technical solutions and expertise
Research, evaluate, and recommend security technologies that can be applied to technology solutions being developed or maintained internally or externally
Oversee all technology operations and evaluate them according to established goals
Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by CIO
Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing staff of information technology experts
Establish team for automation
Some travel required for work with the leadership team, possibly for customer briefings, planning and other activities
What you’ll need
B.A./B.S or equivalent work experience
6+ years of progressive IT leadership and digital transformation management experience in multi-disciplinary environments
Understanding and experience with the RPA strategy to drive digital transformation
Expert knowledge of the network, on premise server engineering and AWS/Azure engineering
Demonstrable experience managing a IT engineering function in an organization with a large cloud footprint
Experience leading an advanced threat and vulnerability management capability
Ability to evolve security strategy based on research, data, business direction, and industry trends
Demonstrable track record as an influential leader
Experience leading digital transformation to improve customer and colleague experiences
Practical IT engineering background, with expert level knowledge of infrastructure concepts including Infrastructure Services,
Network Services, Identity Services, Oracle, Workday, Genesys, etc.
Solid understanding of IT and Engineering policies, standards and products, privacy rules and regulations
Experience partnering with members of the engineering community
Demonstrable track record of delivering technology solutions within tight time frames, in collaboration with multiple stakeholder groups and contending priorities
Strategic, but also hands-on expert in managing and leading technical and non-technical PMO
Use a data driven approach to drive technology posture improvements and influence decision making
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
