Description : CIB Wholesale Payments is undertaking an expansion of its international merchant acquiring/ E-Commerce capabilities and alternative methods of payments for the product line. As a Technology platform owner you will be responsible for developing cloud based solutions to process payments for the CIB Merchant Services line of business in a global model. As the platform owner you will drive a multi-year strategy partnering with product management to build capabilities and deprecate older assets. This role will require building partnerships across the organization to provide client access and servicing. Finally, you will need the ability to be client facing for large clients to support sales and onboarding activities to the solution.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead the team responsible for design, development, testing, and implementation of the data lake solution in AWS tech stack.
Development of large scale big data solutions to be used in a large production environment with petabytes of data and integration with ingestion, consumption, analytics, and business intelligence
Good understanding big data security practices including handling of PCI Data Standards
Establish and drive adoption of best practices for data engineering, component re-use, architecture design and technical standards.
Maintain awareness of new / emerging data technologies and their potential application to existing or future service offerings.
Manage day-to-day decisions, including request priorities, work assignments and work sequencing; and interfaces with senior management to report on roadmap progress
Provide technical leadership to the team and drive solutions to complex problems
Work closely with the Product Management and Product owners to do roadmap planning, epic prioritization with a goal for asset deprecation
Coach agile teams to develop a continuous improvement culture, delivering velocity and quality.
Promote and cultivate team spirit and culture across the global team built on open communication, collaboration, teamwork, trust and integrity
Develop, lead and coordinate communications and relationships across multiple IT and product teams.
Gather, analyze and maintain large data sets to provide answers to address hurdles and create innovative solutions in large-scale data infrastructures.
Experience in the following as it relates to software engineering in a mission critical environment:
Analyzing complex data systems – failure analysis / root cause analysis
Developing, improving and maintaining technical engineering documentation
Performance management
Roadmap development
Product Management – design, development, testing and integration/transition/transformation
Compliance and governance
Mastery of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
Command of architecture, design and business processes
Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
Expertise in working in partnership with colleagues throughout the firm, and in leading collaborative teams to achieve common goals
Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes
MS or PhD in Computer Science or closely related degree.
Proven experience architecting and delivering big data platforms using Hadoop ecosystem: Hadoop, Spark, MapReduce, Hive/Pig, Impala/Drill
Proven experience transforming, modelling and conforming structured and unstructured data
Experience with RDBMS, NoSQL and data warehousing
Experience in building and leveraging Data movement technologies like Kafka and NiFi
Proven experience of building and delivering a Big Data Platform from server builds to building tools and services that leverage data pipelines and compute resources efficiently
Proven experience working with 10+ Terabytes/day worth of streaming data
Strong research, analytical and problem solving skills and independent problem-solving, highly motivated and self-directing
Experience with host and network security (identity/password management, ACLs, file permissions and integrity)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing documentation, training users in complex topics, making presentations to junior and very senior audience
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while remaining productive and professional; exercise patience and ability to multi task
5+ years’ experience developing enterprise software and/or Masters’ degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree
Desired qualifications
Having skills in the below areas is a major plus that will help the candidate integrate within the team and environment but is not a requirement.
Overall 15+ Experience in leading,developing and Architecting with Data Science and Machine Learning large green field multi location development initiatives
Experience with data visualization tools: Hue, Kibana, Qlikview, Tableau
Experience in next generation platforms such as cloud (AWS, Azure), PaaS, mobile Experience developing software using continuous integration/deployment pipeline that includes vendor solutions
Experience with resource management (Spark, Yarn queues, Impala pools)
Experience with Splunk
