Description : Our Client, a World recognised and respected Automotive OEM Manufacturer based in rural Warwickshire are actively seeking an Exterior Designer.
Job Purpose:
As an Interior designer, you will be responsible for the creation and implementation of innovate, modern and beautiful automotive Exterior design. You will be involved in active production and concept car projects from initial concept ideation to right through to product launch. As part of a small, highly effective design team you will also be a significant player in setting the future design vision and direction for the Brand. You will work closely with Digital and Physical modellers, Engineers, interior designers and CMF design and use the latest digital tools to bring your visions to life.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Passionate, positive and creative exterior design specialist, who will continually strive for the most successful outcome for the business
A motivated, organised and highly creative team player with great taste and a high level of understanding of Automotive design, as well as luxury design, with excellent creative instincts and the ability to communicate effectively
Able to perform at both Macro and Micro level – able to set high-level strategic direction as well as deep-dive into a detailed design process
Delivering inspiring results within a given gateway/deliverable timeline, on time and to cost targets, with a clear understanding of the impacts of design decisions on the overall project
Generate design proposals for the details of future design details. Use sketches, photoshop imagery, 3D CAD models, CAD visualisation and physical clay models to communicate Exterior design with high attention to detail and accuracy shown in work produced
Implement and support evolving Exterior design processes to ensure most efficient workflow – having a particular focus on integrating modern, digital led practices in the Exterior design process
A behavioural role model to design team and colleagues across the business
Qualification & Experience:
Extensive experience in Automotive / relevant industry, including creative and lead roles
Ability to use some / all of aforementioned key software packages
Detailed understanding of automotive design process – creative phase, concept car and production car experience essential
Excellent interpretative abilities from 2D to 3D
Ability to work collaboratively alongside other Designers/Digital/Physical Modellers/Engineers
Educated to a Bachelor Level or Equivalent experience within a design related discipline
