Description : The Futures & Derivatives Clearing business is a leading provider of Execution and Clearing Services for Exchange-Traded Derivatives (ETD) and Over-the-Counter (OTC) derivatives, as well as Intermediation Services for FX. The business is part of the Equities franchise within the Corporate and Investment Bank, and is a key service provider in facilitating clients’ access to futures, options, and swaps derivatives markets in the fixed income, equity, credit, commodities, crypto and FX asset classes.
The Clearing Account Management team (CAM) has outstanding business, client, product, and industry knowledge. The team manages client relationships throughout their lifecycle and is responsible for all aspects of the Clearing services we provide to our clients. Client Account Managers understand their clients’ structure, constraints, and requirements, which enable them to define and implement tactical and strategic service and technology solutions that best satisfy their needs, as well as analyzing the client’s mix of business in order to maximize their revenue potential for the business.
The team are the senior client-facing staff for the product in EMEA. Comprised of 20 individuals across London and Paris, we are responsible for managing the profitability, risk and capital footprint of the clearing client base and for maximizing the return on equity of the EMEA client base. This role is based in London covering clients based across EMEA including banks, corporates, asset managers and pension funds.
Role profile
The team supports and drives business and revenue growth for cleared OTC and ETD markets through effective management of client relationships. The background and experience of the members of the team include credit risk, market risk, trading, operations, finance and technology.
The team is responsible for profitability and market share of our client base – providing ongoing support to clients with respect to margin methodologies, operational workflows, regulatory updates, treasury and product enhancements. The ability to build and maintain client relationships, based on deep knowledge of the product and solutions are fundamental to the success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Product responsibility for managing existing client relationships, including operational efficiency and capital/funding footprint.
Partner frequently with the Credit and Risk teams to ensure that clients’ trading positions are within JPM’s appetite in terms of counterparty credit exposure and market risk profile.
Communicate existing and future functionality, services and solutions to clients, undertake client training as required.
Establish and maintain dialogue with client peers and undertake regular (quarterly/annually) client reviews of relationships.
Play a key role in managing client issues in order to prevent client defection, client dissatisfaction and/or revenue loss.
Understand and solve ‘complex’ client problems and provide long-term solutions for client requirements, manage change (J.P. Morgan, industry or regulatory driven) with the client base.
Manage client escalations, resolve client issues and help the client navigate the firm and industry/regulatory developments.
Qualifications / requirements
Previous Relationship management experience – gained within a cleared derivatives context and a strong desire to partner with clients and build internal and external relationships
Demonstrable understanding of Global Financial Market Infrastructure
Strong risk management and control mindset
Financial and mathematical numeracy
Comfortable handling and analyzing large data sets and articulating findings and conclusions
Structured approach to problem solving, demonstrating critical thinking and questioning even under pressure
Strong written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal skills
Effective teamwork, constructive and supportive approach, execution/delivery focused
Self-starter – able to prioritise and manage issues and make risk-adjusted priority calls
