As a Healthcare Assistant you will work within the Renal Unit, University Hospital Crosshouse however you may be asked to work in the satellite renal unit in University Hospital Ayr. The shifts will consist of day and nightshifts in Crosshouse Hospital and day shifts in Ayr Hospital.
You will be involved in the preparation of the patient, the dialysis machine and the environment in order for the registered nurse to deliver the patients dialysis therapy. Moving and handling will be a large part of the role as well as recording physiological measurements, weights and working with needles and blood products.
You will be involved in ordering, storing and preparing stock required for the renal unit so good computer skills are essential.
You are required to have SVQ 2 qualifications or equivalent health care certificate and auxiliary nurse experience is essential and/or experience of working within RDU, as well as good interpersonal and communication skills. It is essential that the qualifications are achieved at level 2 and 3 in order to maintain the post holder at a band 3.
Driving licence is essential.
This is a fixed term/secondment opportunity until April 2025.
