Job Summary
Leads the development and implementation of the corporate compliance program. Responsible for drafting policies and procedures, developing and implementing a compliance training curriculum, and a monitoring program. Assists in implementing internal controls, performing continuous monitoring and testing, and developing a Compliance Committee. Interfaces between the legal, business and operations teams to ensure all relevant laws and rules are understood and complied with. This position will be 16-24 hours a week or as needed. This is a non-remote position. Will be able to work out of one of Ascends three locations: Redwood City, CA, Colorado Springs, CO and Denver, CO.
Essential Functions:
The successful applicant will be able to perform the following essential functions at minimum:
Identifies new risks and projects through various intakes, including regular meetings with stakeholders, business leaders, legal, and external sources.
Drafts and disseminates written policies and standard operating procedures related to compliance activities.
Develops the Compliance Training curriculum and assists with course management and attendance recording.
Maintains documentation and databases of all compliance activities, to include complaints received or investigation outcomes.
Performs risk assessments of various areas of the organization.
Instructs and updates staff on compliance issues and procedures.
Respond to phone calls or emails from senior management within 4 hours (Monday thru Friday).
Respond to phone calls or emails from other staff within 24 hours (Monday thru Friday).
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in a related field
Ethical, with a strong understanding of compliance risks and a good sense for practical solutions.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels in the organization.
Communicate clearly, concisely and effectively.
Ability to listen carefully and effectively communicate complex topics with different types of potential clients.
Demonstrated ability to quickly establish trust and rapport with other personnel.
Demonstrated knowledge of laws (Anti-kickback Statute, False Claims Act, HIPAA, and State laws), regulations, industry guidance and best practices regarding compliance

Compensation:
The compensation range being offered for this role is $80 hourly. Compensation and benefits information for this position is being included in accordance with requirements of the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Please note that the salary range listed relate specifically to roles located in Colorado and that salary ranges for similar positions located in other Ascend Clinical locations may vary. In addition, salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to individual competencies, education/professional certifications, experience and performance in the role.
