Description : An exciting position has become available for an experienced Mental Healthcare Assistant, working in the prison sector across Kent. The successful candidate must be compassionate, resilient and able to show empathy in all aspects of their work, whilst working in a challenging environment. You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team, working and liaising closely with a variety of prison professionals.
Prison Mental Healthcare Assistant essential skills:
Provide support to senior and nursing staff
Promote positivity
Observe, assess and respond appropriately to patient needs
Prepare and maintain patient records
Build and maintain professional and therapeutic relationships with patients and their families if necessary
Keep calm under pressure and when dealing with challenging or confrontational behaviour
Good organisation and problem-solving skills
Manage and communicate sensitive information effectively and in accordance with legislation
Excellent communication and effective team work skills
Meditemp requires you to have:
A minimum of 6 months recent experience as a hospital/ prison based mental healthcare assistant
Prison security clearance is ideal but not essential
Occupational Health in line with the dept. of health
Eligibility to work within the UK
Physical Intervention training (valid within last 12 months)
