Join one of the biggest and most respected national eCommerce successes in our industry. cmostores.com is an online supplier of building materials, sold across multiple specialist eCommerce stores. We are seeking a self-motivated, organised and experienced HR Officer to join our HR Team. This role will be based at our site at Ipswich reporting to the Head of HR in Plymouth.
You will work as an integral part of the HR Team to deliver an effective and competent level of operational support to the HR department and consistently deliver a level of service that promotes effective working relationships throughout the business. You will have demonstrable experience of working within a generalist human resource environment, including managing disciplinaries, grievances, performance and sickness absence cases from end-end. You must have excellent communication skills, organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and have up to date employment law and data protection legislation knowledge.
General day to duties include, but are not limited to;
Handling daily inquiries from employees in a timely manner
Ensuring HRIS is kept up to date and employee data is recorded accurately
Creating and analysing statistical reports on HR information
Supporting the recruitment and selection process ensuring we meet headcount requirement for future growth. This includes advertising vacancies, designing selection and assessment activities, advising on interview and assessment processes, coordinating and participating in the interview process.
Supporting the Head of HR in developing training needs analysis and personal development plans for employees.
Managing new starter/leaver paperwork and administering appropriate paperwork to reflect changes to status, pay and benefits
Providing advice to support managers and acting as a HR representative in meetings including investigation, disciplinary, grievance, welfare and performance reviews.
Providing appropriate and accurate advice on our HR policies and procedures
Managing case work and ensuring that issues are delt with in a timely fashion
Ensuring our online training academy is kept up to date and monitoring employee activity
Supporting the Head of HR with the delivery of projects as and when required
Keeping our benefits platform up to date with necessary benefit changes and adding/removing employees.
Ensuring Payroll data includes changes to staff terms and conditions
Providing inductions to new starters and ensuring the content is kept up to date.
Ensuring appropriate documentation is completed by managers and meetings are held with employees where necessary
Responsible for ownership of tasks and have a flexible/adaptable approach to work in order to meet deadlines
Maintaining employment law and legislation knowledge
Other duties as required
The successful candidate will be an experienced HR generalist preferably working at HR Officer/Advisor level. They will have the ability to engage in meaningful negotiation and resolution and build effective internal relationships. They will have experience of working in a fast-paced environment, be able work on own initiative and will organise and prioritise their workload to set deadlines. They will have a practical problem-solving ability and remain calm under pressure. Working knowledge of Excel is essential and experience of using a HRIS would be advantageous. The successful candidate will have either completed their CIPD level 5 or be studying towards the qualification. Experience of TUPE and staff consultations is desirable.
