HR&OD are a trusted voice within the Corporate Leadership team and a respected partner across council services. Within Wiltshire, we have separate strategic and operational HR teams which enables a strong focus on strategic innovation ensuring an effective, proactive approach.
We are now on the lookout for an experienced Manager to lead forward the Strategic and Insight team within the HR&OD function.

About the role
Reporting to the Deputy HR&OD Director / Head of Strategic HR&OD, this post provides oversight across all elements of strategic HR delivery, including:
Development of the workforce strategy
The effective provision of workforce insight
Delivery of HR projects
Development of policies and procedures
Pay and reward
Organisational design and job evaluation
A strong focus on equalities and inclusion.
Working with the HR&OD management team the post will shape, translate and deliver the workforce strategy to deliver the Council’s business plan and corporate priorities and to support the development and transformation of the organisation – ensuring we learn from our response to COVID-19 to emerge leaner and stronger, with a more agile and flexible workforce

About you
This is a wide-ranging role and, with a team of specialists working for you, you won’t necessarily be an expert on all areas.
You will have relevant experience of working in HR, with experience across a range of strategic HR areas as well as good business acumen. You will need to be a credible leader, interested in and able to coordinate a diverse range of activities and align these to strategy, as well as providing excellent leadership so your team feel engaged, empowered, and supported.
You will have proven experience of giving direction and supporting complex organisational and cultural change, with significant experience of developing and building effective working relationships with senior managers and stakeholders on people management solutions.
Ideally you will have experience within the public sector or similar, and the ability to demonstrate an understanding of public sector priorities and challenges.
