Description : HCCS has full-time and part-time openings for experienced and certified Remote Inpatient Coders – these are long-term W2 positions, not short-term contract work. Weekly schedules and hours are flexible, but consistency is required of both full and part-time coders. This is not contract work like what most of our competitors offer. Our clients hire us as an indefinite solution rather than temporary help that we provide using short-term coders. When we hire coders and auditors, our goal is for them to still be with us when they retire. While we try to keep shuffling to an absolute minimum, we hire coders for types of hospitals rather than a specific client – this means a coder’s job with us is not dependent on that client. $3,000 Sign-On BonusDesired Skills and Experience Current coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC – CCS strongly preferred, but RHIA, RHIT or CPC will be considered Minimum of 3 years Inpatient Coding experience at an Urban Hospital is required for most currently open roles (Urban facilities are typically greater than 100 beds). HCCS does lots of coding for rural hospitals, but most of our current need is for large, urban facilities. Trauma 1 and Academic experience preferred, but not required for all openings. Trauma 2 experience should be sufficient.
