Description : In order to serve our 3 billion plus (and growing) users across some of the most popular apps in the world including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp and invest in metaverse, we need to speed up to scale our global infrastructure at an incredible pace. The Capacity Engineering & Analysis team is a dynamic, highly cross functional team that works across all of Engineering and many business teams at Meta to enable us to sustainably and reliably scale our infrastructure as our usage continues to increase and we launch new products.We are seeking a technology leader to join this mission critical team to lead and grow team(s) of high caliber engineers to drive strategic and tactical development of both software and operational processes to enable efficient growth at the intersection of our software services and physical infrastructure for the entire Meta production fleet. You will also lead cross-fleet service performance and efficiency efforts, and collaborate closely with partners in product/service groups, infrastructure partner teams, data center operations, software engineering and systems & tooling engineering. This role will be actively engaged in multiple strategic initiatives to manage tradeoffs and build one of the largest Internet services in the world with tens of billions of user requests, hundreds of exabytes of data, and thousands of gbps of network flow!
Drive both strategic and tactical capacity planning, scaling, and management for the largest web capacity in the world across both software development and operational management.
Build and expand a world-class software development and performance engineer team through mentorship, guidance and career development.
Drive the development of next generation data-driven systems to automate capacity life-cycle management at scale.
Lead partnerships with Capacity and Performance Engineering, Supply Chain, Infrastructure Software, Data Center Construction & Operations, Network Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering and Systems & Tooling teams to find the optimal way to scale Facebook infrastructure.
Provide definition and deliverables on project roadmap to automate and improve our capacity management at scale solutions.
Communicate across various functional teams and organizations, with internal and external stakeholders, to drive innovation in infrastructure capacity planning, delivery and management.
10+ years of experience working in a technology company building large scale software systems and/or planning and managing infrastructure capacity.
BS, MS, or PHD in an engineering or highly analytical field such as computer science, electrical & computer engineering.
3+ years of experience leading mid-sized teams.
Understanding of large-scale distributed infrastructure to support a global internet business.
Experience working on ambiguous problems and managing uncertainty at a high-growth company.
Experience in performance or capacity engineering.
