Description : Meta’s Reality Labs designs, develops, and builds all its own ARVR and Portal HW products. The Strategic Sourcing team is responsible for spend from raw materials, to the individual components on a board, to the final consumer end product. The team owns the commercial growth strategy and business relationships with various suppliers and manufacturers. The sourcing team moves fast and leverages key partnerships to drive technical innovation, high quality standards and cost-savings via a customized supply chain. Meta is seeking a leader that creates disruptive value by influencing the tools, processes and reports that define and improve the productivity of sourcing managers, provide proactive intelligence to sales and operations teams for better planning and manage budgets efficiently to eliminate non-value steps and processes. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of strategic sourcing business operations managers, interns, contract workers and consultants in building a foundational ecosystem for the strategic sourcing organization. Together with your team and numerous internal partners, you will be responsible for influencing XFN (Cross Functional) teams in developing tools for internal use, processes to streamline sourcing efforts and provide reports to management which provide overall health of the organization. Your impact spans all verticals under the Reality Labs.
Develop overall vision, strategy, and execution plan for the Strategic Sourcing Organization.
Driving an integrated long-term internal management approach to enable sourcing community to deliver world class quality, delivery, and cost.
Build and advance a team of highly effective Business Operations managers that will support and influence cross-functional teams, Business Enablement Team (BET), Product Operations Team, Strategic Sourcing Team, Commerce Engineering (CE), Enterprise Engineering (EE), and Legal in developing a high-performance strategic sourcing operating system.
Actively engage and influence new tools and process exploration, collaborate with cross-functional partners on creating a long-term tool development Roadmap mapping closely with the growing sourcing organization, and advise/recommend to the executive team a clear systems and tools strategy.
Own sharing of Strategic Sourcing requirements into BET and participate in elevating supplier’s capabilities and/or internal tools.
Work with the Commerce engineering team (utilizing BET resources) to engineer processes and technology solutions that best aligns with our technology partners.
Develop and drive technology partner engagement strategy (supporting BET) ensuring suppliers are capable of meeting Meta’s current and future technical and business requirements.
Develop deep technical and commercial relationships with executive management at suppliers.
Actively participate in aiding to solve business technical challenges along with cross-functional partners.
Influence supplier technology roadmaps (via BET) and create internal disruptive value-add to ensure Meta’s system architecture and commercial requirements are met.
Partner with Finance to ensure financial reporting is reliable, accurate and reported on-time.
Provide intelligence to sourcing teams to enable the Total Cost Reduction program to ensure the lowest possible total cost, including product cost, transportation cost, inventory cost, and cost of quality.
Recommend appropriate business splits between suppliers where appropriate based on cost and risks identified.
Identify supply chain risks and work with sourcing teams to generate contingency plans to de-risk technical challenges, long lead time, single source, and any supply issue.
Develop a roadmap for sourcing strategy operational efficiency ensuring the tools and processes are scalable to meeting Meta’s current and future business requirements.
Continually benchmark the industry to monitor technology trends and ensure best practices are incorporated into the Meta’s supply chain.
Engineering or Business BS degree.
10+ years of building tools, market intelligence, developing and socializing processes, identifying, and publishing internal performance metrics. Sourcing and procurement experience in Electronics, Retail or Logistics industries, including demonstrated experience improving the efficiencies of sourcing organization.
Experience working in enterprises with hardware portfolios.
Expertise in supplier evaluation/selection, should cost models, contract negotiation and supply base management.
Experience articulating points of view with executive management but execute plans when directed.
Demonstrated experience thinking strategically but detailed oriented to support ideology with facts and data.
Proven relentless drive to overachieve and no-excuses professional, making the most of resources available, and a team player who can roll-up her/his sleeves to get the job done.
Expertise in financial statement analysis to derive should-cost models and cost competitiveness/financial strengths of suppliers, as well as gathering market intelligence.
Deliver best-in-class total cost of ownership (TCO), continuity of supply (COS), and business relationship management, interest in opportunities to enable new approach to sourcing.
Experience in setting up, running, and optimizing a global, outsourced manufacturing supply chain.
Demonstrated experience in hiring, training, and developing sourcing and business operations teams.
Demonstrated experience interfacing with and establishing commercial and technical relationships with senior management at suppliers.
Expertise in providing market analysis to dissect market size, players, customers, growth, technology replacements/forecasts, pricing trends, etc., to formulate sourcing strategies.
Advanced degree in finance, supply chain or MBA.
Experience moving seamlessly from strategy to execution and deliver tangible results.
Experience influencing, negotiating, building consensus and make key strategic decisions.
Experience working across all layers of the organization, particularly with cross-functional teams, in a fast-paced environment.
Superior program management adherence experiences in the consumer electronics market, in-factory experience preferred.
