The role
The post-holder is responsible for carrying out web and software development and support for a variety of educational technology innovation projects and key institutional activities. Work will involve developing Augmented Reality applications for mobile and smart glasses, web-based backend systems and services, and working in collaboration with other areas of the university and potentially with other partner institutions to deliver on a variety of project technical objectives and to create services in support of the OU’s strategic plan. The role also involves the oversight and management of a suite of technologies associated with particular projects, acting as the lead developer for that suite of services.
Skills and Experience
Do you have:
A higher educational qualification or relevant work experience.
Knowledge and experience of good web and user interface (HCI) design and standards (e.g., IEEE, W3C).
Knowledge and experience of Agile software development methods and standards. Experience of Augmented Reality Application Development (e.g., in C# and Unity3D, or WebXR).
Experience of server-side development using web frameworks and content management systems, PHP based in particular (e.g. Moodle).
Strong programming and software design skills including recent experience and demonstrable knowledge in the effective specification, design, development, production or integration of software solutions and systems.
