Description : Practice ManagerIn this essential role, we are looking to appoint an experienced Practice Manager to lead our organisation. Ensures the medical practice remains financially sustainable while delivering good quality customer service. Makes key business decisions and oversees day-to-day practice operations. Works to expand medical practice to make it more efficient and better meet the needs of the local community.We are a 13,000 patient, seven GP Partner practice. We have a nursing team comprising two Practice Matrons, three Practice Nurses and two Health Care Assistants supported by an experienced administration team.As a practice our ethos is to give the best integrated and evidence-based care to our patients, which was published by the WHO as an example of integrated care. We adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to include all practice staff. We are forward thinking and keen to develop our staff. We are actively involved in working with other practices within our Primary Care Network, with one of our partners taking on the responsibility of Clinical Director.The main responsibilities of the role include:The overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the surgery;Providing solid leadership based on a sound knowledge of business management, finance, planning, Human Resource management including recruitment;Presenting and analysing data to monitor quality;Attending local meetings representing the surgery and reporting to partners;Effectively managing all staff;Taking responsibility for security, repairs, insurance and maintenance of the premises, services and equipment;Ensuring that the practice complies with all aspects of Health & Safety at Work legislation;Managing all income, expenditure and accounts as well as preparing financial reports for the partners with support from the finance team;Implementing and maintaining systems under direction from the partners;Handling patient enquiries and suggestions including oversight of the practice-based complaints procedure in conjunction with the relevant partner;Reviewing and updating the practice’s information leaflet/website, handling practice publicity and health education materials;Being involved in managing the computer system, including organising any maintenance and developments to the system;Ensuring practice compliance with Data Protection legislation;Preparing practice business plans and annual reports as directed by the partners;Works with physicians to develop business strategies and patient services;Designs and implements workplace procedures;Liaises with general practitioners, nurses, physiotherapists, and other medical practice employees to ensure they have necessary support;Evaluates appointment procedures and patient services;Recruits, trains, and supervises new administrative employees;Recruits new patients;Interacts with patients and gains customer feedback about the practice;Addresses patient complaints in a compassionate and timely fashion;Monitors practice’s progress in meeting government targets;· Support and promote GP and other clinical training at the Practice and within the Primary Care Network, including liaison with Health Education England and practice trainers.· Work with other Primary Care Network practices and Practice Managers to support the development and best interests of the practice and the PCN· Maintain readiness and preparation for CQC inspections and lead the practice through the inspection process with the support guidance of GP Partners.About the CandidateIf you are an experienced Practice / Business Manager looking for a new and exciting change in career then we would love to hear from you.
