Description : Responsible for answering all inbound/outbound patient requests for prescription refills, under the direction and supervision of the Contact Center Directors to ensure safe and appropriate patient care. Performs a broad spectrum of clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of patient care assistance.Answers, directs, and follows up on incomingCalls patients as requested byMeets the established call center associate metrics for quality, schedule adherence, hold times, call completion, productivity, and callerAccepts customer and prescription information required to process refill prescriptions, including refill authorization from doctor offices.Enters prescription information for: patient searches, prescriber searches, drug selection, prescription interpretation, insurance billing, and basicCompletes refill prescriptions paperwork, inputs customer information, and prescription into system.Anticipates the clinician’s needs and carries outTracks specialty procedures/patient volumeVerifies approved or denied appointments: schedules patients, enter “No shows”. Performs “No Show” follow up Works bump list.Assists with the completion of appropriate forms (DMV, disability, ).Updates patient demographic Performs patient record audits.Completes Patient Communication form and responds to patient complaints whenAssists with Pay for Performance (P4P) research, Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCC) research, telephone call procedures, and patient follow upDistributes incoming correspondence (faxes, consult notes, test results, ).Participates in Quality ImprovementParticipates in preparing department for internal and external site audits from SCAN, DHS,Participates regularly in skills competency Participates regularly in site staff and department meetings.Cross-trains into Contact Center Team Member position whenMay assist with site marketing activities (i.e. health fairs, and other events).Functions as a department mentor, trainer and resource by orienting new employees and departmentIdentifies and resolves daily department issues and concerns and escalates to supervisor whenParticipates in the development of department policies andREQUIRED: 1-2 years of post-high school education or a degree from a two-year college; 1 year of experience in medical call handling; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.DESIRABLE: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, plus 1 year of prior Medical Assistant work experience. Prior experience in the Ophthalmology industry.Job Type: Full-timeSchedule:8 hour shiftWork Location: One location
