Description : Ocean Construction Services is looking to employ experienced professional Quality Control Manager for Federal projects at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base (NC)Roles and responsibilities include:Manages the quality control staff and all specialty subcontractor inspection entities to ensure all disciplines are in compliance with applicable owner/architect and government specifications, codes, regulations and requirements.Ensures the quality standards established in the contract are met.Read blueprints and specifications.Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards.Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process.Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced.Develop and draft project specific Quality Control Plans.Conduct field reviews and inspections of ongoing and completed work to verify competency and accuracy with respect to approved construction methods and applications.Work with other company principals and project designers and engineers to develop cost effective designs and design solutions that are reasonable and affordable to implement.Monitor Quality Control measures on multiple job sites simultaneously with proper coordination and documentation.Development of effective communications and mechanisms for resolving conflicts among the various participants.Assist in developing, drafting and enforcing project specific Accident Protection Plan (APP) and Health and Safety Plan (HASP) measures on each project, in conjunction with the Safety OfficeEmployee audits during material receipt, fabrication and installation verifying company QC processes and procedures are followed, developing employee training and development of quality improvement initiatives as detailed in project plans and specifications.Oversee quality control procedures on construction projects from start to finish, including coordination and review of third-party inspections and material testing.Work with the Project Manager(s) to create current and relevant quality control measures and project specific requirements.Monitor construction activities to ensure that they are moving according to predetermined schedules, while meeting acceptable construction industry standards.Assist the Project Manager in preparing and executing Request for Information (RFIs) requests with designers and engineers when field problems and design problems occur to remedy issues quickly and cost effectively.Manage and communicate effectively with the Project Managers and Superintendents.Assist the Project Manager in identifying the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims, and determining an acceptable resolution.Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality and safety standards.Ensure project documents and deliverables are complete and accurateREQUIREMENTSRequired Minimum of 5 years experience as a QC Representative/Superintendent on Federal InstillationsMust be familiar with EM 385-1-1 and have experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance and sustainability.Must be able and willing pass a background check for work on Federal Instillations.Training/Education related to process system Quality ControlHigh school diploma or equivalentValid driver’s license and all necessary certifications for working on a government baseMinimum of 5 years construction experience desiredSuperior knowledge of quality control program components, building codes and technical standardsMust be able to read and interpret plans and specifications.Complete understanding of safety practices and standards -EM385Capable of planning and coordinating the activities of others with excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.Working knowledge of company’s computer system and software applications preferred.
