We are hiring a Regional Director of Operations who will lead people, processes and systems at multiple Fulfillment/Delivery Centers across the West Coast. The Regional Director will have responsibility for operational performance for several (5-7) Fulfillment/Delivery Centers. Across our growing presence, Fulfillment/Delivery Centers are the backbone of our global business, driving our innovative culture and growth. The RD serves as the leader of their region and the face of the organization to our employees and the entire community where the center is located. Our company depends upon these Fulfillment/Delivery Centers to deliver the ultimate customer experience and satisfaction, and it is a role that is taken extremely seriously throughout the company.
The role will manage the locations on the West Coast (San Francisco, Seattle, LA, Portland and potentially more as we grow) with 50-70% travel required for this role.
Scope of Work:
Leading 5-7 Fulfillment/Delivery Centers by managing site General Managers to deliver in-house logistics as well as the internal interfaces to vendors and carriers.
Maintain health and safety standards within the region and promote a positive health and safety culture on site.
Lead delivery of all targeted Business Plan metrics across productivity, quality, cost, safety and people for all locations part of the West coast.
Full P/L responsibility for the region as well as working with the GMs to develop yearly financial plans.
Lead and drive staff planning, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Six Sigma initiatives to enable Operations and ultimately the region to attain Odeko’s Business Plan.
Manage and develop a team of employees within a demanding, fast-paced/time-critical and multiple product line environments. Provide the leadership to grow leaders quickly to be able to support rapid company growth.
Partner with People teams to recruit high performing individuals to the organization.
Partner with tech teams to develop solutions which support continued growth and exception execution.
Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
Maintain a complete leadership overview and thorough understanding of inventory.
Implement change and/or develop new processes as required to meet customer needs.
Continuously measure and evaluate the departmental goals and all work processes.
Set and clarify requirements and expectations for all cross functional direct reports.
Take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments and the wider Odeko network.
Work effectively with support staff (HR, Financial Manager, Safety & Loss Prevention Manager, IT Manager and Engineering) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.
Core Competencies:
8-10 years of operations management experience in warehousing, manufacturing, distribution, or fulfillment centers
Experience managing direct reports and driving their success and professional development
Ability to drive delivery of all targeted business plan metrics across safety, productivity, quality, cost, delivery, and people at your sites in pursuit of our customer promise
Ability to create and build upon operational plans, drive a mind-set and culture of continuous improvement through Kaizen and Lean initiatives and sustain a culture of learning and development
Proven proficiency tackling complex problems that affect customers and work to resolve them with innovative solutions
