Working closely with the Centre for Mental Health Research at City, University of London, the successful applicants main role will be to recruit and interview participants into National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) funded RAPID trial. RAPID (Remote Approaches to Psychosocial Interventions Delivery) is a three-year randomised controlled trial to evaluate the benefits of three remotely delivered, brief psychosocial interventions (safety planning, peer support and a smartphone app) designed to help people manage suicidal thoughts and reduce unhelpful psychiatric hospital admissions.
The role will involve working with clinical teams to support participant recruitment and retention to the trial, interviewing participants at baseline and at follow-up, and contributing to data entry and data management as part of the trial.
You will be able to communicate effectively with research participants, clinical staff and our external research partners on the trial, and to support adherence to good practice standards and statutory requirements for clinical trials. At the East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) we pride ourselves in delivering the latest in evidence-based healthcare across mental health, dementia, physical health, and primary and community care. The successful applicants will be based at the Newham Centre for Mental Health (East London-based post) or Charter House, Luton (Bedfordshire-based post) for supervision and training, although the trial will recruit across a variety of clinical specialties within the Trust so you must be willing to be mobile and flexible in your working practices.
