Be there when it matters
Sue Ryder are one of the largest charity retailers in the UK with over 400 shops. Every item sold in our shops generates funding so we can continue to provide 2.7 million hours of expert medical, practical and emotional support every year, in our hospices and neurological centres, in people’s homes and in the community.
We have a much-loved presence on high streets across the country – with a range of new and innovative shops, including boutiques, vintage and retro shops, and large format stores. As a member of the retail team you’ll be helping us Inspire communities to provide more care for more people through innovating and collaborating on ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. You will also be contributing to drive up the income that generates the vital funds necessary to keep our care and support services running.
About us Shop Information
If you’re creative with a flair for design/fashion, come and help our customers discover the best fashion, furniture & bric a brac in our Edinburgh Sue Ryder shop. As a volunteer, you’ll put your creative eye for fashion to good use by producing an interesting and inviting atmosphere to entice customers into the shop and help display items at their best potential.
About you
Does discovering new treasures and bric-a-brac excite you? Do you love finding new items from “kitsch” toys to unique antiques? Do you like interior design? Looking to be more eco-friendly? Come help us run our exceptional Edinburgh shop and support our expanding bric a brac with appealing visual displays. Find out more about our plans for showcasing kitchy and retro treasures.
Delve into our treasure trove of items donated to us and select the items that will raise vital funds. Your talents will be recognised as we offer you the opportunity to use your artistic spirit to create attractive displays. You’ll be involved in the shop helping customers discover special items; full training will be provided.
How you’ll benefit
In return for your enthusiasm, you will have the opportunity to be part of a wonderful team, gain new skills and experience, and most importantly contribute towards providing more care for more people in the community.
How much time does the role take up?
Ideally we ask that you can make a regular weekly commitment. How often you volunteer is flexible and can be a regular morning or afternoon during the week or weekends.
