What it is about?
Visa Business Solutions in Europe is launching an exciting range of new payment products that create new payment flows for Visa. This senior role will drive client engagement for Visa Transaction Management (VTM) solutions, across Visa’s portfolio of Commercial and Business issuers and be a foundation member of the Visa Spend Clarity Sales Specialist team in Europe.
We add value to our Issuing banks – by offering consultative services before, during, and after the implementation of our technology. We have the insight, and experience to recommend the best way our Issuing banks can benefit from using our technology. In principle, we typically see core needs and objectives that centre around 3 primary objectives:
Enhanced Revenue Generation
Delivery of product enhancements through use of our Technology
Growth of commercial/business payments volumes via client acquisition and growth
Reduction in attrition of clients and/or commercial payments volumes
Cost Containment
Ability to use and pay for features utilizing a shared risk vs reward model.
Development of positive business cases by using our technology.
Access to SaaS-based technology that is delivered to a community of customers, thereby lowering the overall Total Cost of Ownership (“TCO”) of investment
Optimized Customer Experience
Enhanced end-customer experience through use of single platform(s) versus having to access and use disparate systems from multiple vendors.
Ability to integrate into existing online banking and/or treasury systems or third-party processing environment through a single sign-on (“SSO)” option for clients.
Access to highly functional technology that is easy-to-use and provides for enhanced efficiency and cost savings for end-customers.
What we expect of you, day to day.
You will represent as a Visa Spend Clarity Sales Specialist, Visa Business Solutions (VBS) with our clients, and with target Clients, at a very senior level and make a compelling case for the product. This will require challenging other long-established services providers, new FinTech’s to the market and the banks own built solutions and make a strong business case for change.
You will be expected to represent Visa Spend Clarity Sales in Europe (potentially CEMEA), and so you will need to be build, share, and then manage a compelling pipeline all within our CRM tool. To do this effectively, you will need to collaborate with the Visa Europe Account Executive team and the local VBS Account Directors and show deep understanding of a target customer and their whole Visa relationship. You will also be required to bring new relationships to Visa.
The VTM products are established in the marketplace under different guises and are undergoing transformation change and development, with launch due for Oct 21. You will become a member of the regional team and be expected to work in an environment where the product team is working in a ‘test and learn’ environment to grow the product functionality. Client feedback will be critical and the ‘anchor’ clients for the service will require close management. You will also be required to contribute your understanding of the segment globally to the development team.
In this role, you will be expected to direct awareness campaigns and events, identify stakeholders, lead senior discussions, deliver proposals in collaboration with the product team, communication with VBS market leads and client Account Executive and then close deals. You will be expected to understand product functionality, product pricing, regulatory and compliance issues, and the technology and operational environment of target customers, including the major operational risk issues, and be able to take these issues into consideration when pitching.
You will be required to work with Clients as they assess the financial benefits and risk considerations of VTM solutions and support their decision making.
Once a deal is completed, in this role you will need to continue the customer relationship to uncover new opportunities as the product evolves. To meet your customer needs, you will need to advocate new functionality or processes with the product team and make active contributions to the product roadmap.
As a member of the broader VBS sales team, you will be expected to contribute your knowledge of transaction management products to other areas of the VBS business and support your sales and Account Executive colleagues. You will need to have a good understanding of key regulatory changes in Europe, particularly Open Banking/PSD2, the growth of SEPA, and structural changes in the European payments market.
You will be required to align your sales strategy with established performance metrics, lead responses to RFX and deliver against established revenue targets.
VBS is a global organisation. As such you will need to collaborate with colleagues around the world to research, organise, lead and support client proposals.
Qualifications
What we’re after…
We require an individual with a proven track record of complex, senior solutions sales activity in the B2B and SaaS selling environment, ideally with 5-10 years’ experience in this environment. We expect an individual with advanced presentation skills, strong interpersonal skills, is disciplined in either or both consultative and/or challenger sales processes and who can manage a sale from awareness to closure.An individual with the product knowledge, selling skills and credibility to engage with senior clients in the Commercial/Business card issuing space in some of the world’s biggest global and regional banks to engage and sell Visa Spend Clarity and other VBS products. You will need to understand the European banking market, the key banks, the different solutions in the region and local markets.An individual who can provide evidence of driving transformational product change through banks and other payment organisations, through influencing key leaders, providing compelling propositions, and being thoughtful and targeted.A high energy level and ability to work independently will be required. You will need to be a relentless advocate of the product, both internally and externally.Have credibility to work with Clients, strong relationship skills to gain the confidence of clients, and the ability to establish open and transparent relationships.Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are critical as your will be communicating both business and technical propositions to Clients.
An individual who is available to be in the Visa Paddington office, to be available to work with and support colleagues. Travel across Europe will be required.
