PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
This position manages and administers plans and/or programs to ensure the most effective utilisation of the human resources to support site objectives. This must be accomplished within the framework of the organisations overall corporate, and division polices, plans and programs. It requires generalised knowledge and involvement in all specialised areas including, but not limited to, employee/labour relations, compensation, performance management, staffing and safety. The emphasis is on adaption and implementation of specific policies and initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manages the administration of the human resources policies, programs and practices throughout the site
Functions as a business partner with management to plan and implement programs to meet human resources requirements supporting short-term and long-term business needs
Implements progressive HR solutions supporting site objectives
Implements corporate practices into local operations
Facilitate communication between various levels of the operation
Assures implementation and administration of compensation and benefit programs
Guides and/or conducts employee training and development programs, including leadership training
Assures an effective performance management process is utilised for all employees
Manages recruitment process for salaried employees, review organisation structure and job design with hiring manager, identify sourcing techniques, screen candidates, conduct phone screens and set up and conduct interviews, establish a selection criteria to identify top talent and counsel managers on selection and making job offers. Implement effective safety, affirmative action, and other employee relations programs
Provide strategic solutions, advise and counsel to site managers and supervisors
Develop succession planning /OCA in co-operation with site and/or functional leaders. Develop background materials and follow up on action and development plans
Manage Talent Hub process by holding leaders accountable to on time and effective setting and alignment of goals, development plans, mid-year reviews and annual reviews. Rating codes are calibrated cross-functionally, and salary plans are submitted on time. Ensure hourly (if applicable) annual performance reviews and related wage adjustments are planned and completed on time.
Qualifications
SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE
BS or BA in Human Resource Management or equivalent
MBA preferred
CIPD preferred
Knowledge of contemporary legal trends
5-7 years of HR generalist experience
Proficient in computer software, Microsoft office, HRMS (Oracle preferred)
Working knowledge of related employment and labour laws
