Hourly rate: £10.00 per hour (+£1.00 for waking nights)
We currently have some opportunities for enthusiastic, caring people to join our dedicated team as support workers.
This is home to 6/7 individuals living in their own flats with 1-1 support at different times of the day, with access to a support hub at all other times. You will work a combination of 1:1 support hours, with individuals with complex needs. This includes times where you will be part of the core background support delivering 2-1 support for specific tasks with the individuals you will be supporting. The shared hub is a unique dimension to supported living, where you are on hand to support as a point of contact for the individuals, planned activities, personal care requirements, Moving & Handling People, behavior support as and when required.
In general, we are looking for people that will bring energy, be creativity and innovative in supporting individuals. Somebody who can deliver communication in variable formats, support individualized sensory needs. Be a part of a team developing weekly plans. You will need to be comfortable with supporting with personal care.
You will be resilient, have a confident personality and be able to work on different levels to suit varying personalities and needs. You will need to be able to work on your own on a 1-1 basis.
You will also need to be patient and good humored. Preferably you will have experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and be able to work in a way that is truly person centered – aiming to make a real difference to the individual’s lives by promoting independence and enhancing their perception of quality of life. It is important that you understand that this looks different for each individual.
Experience preferred but not essential as a range of training is provided – we promote a values-based recruitment drive. We are also looking for drivers.
Hours: We have contracted and casual opportunities available: we have both full and part time positions for the right candidate. We have daytime hours and a waking night position available.
