We are seeking to recruit a Teaching and Learning Manager (Appeals, Complaints and Discipline) based in the new Teaching & Learning Delivery team. The Team is in the new Division of Student and Academic Services which is part of the wider Directorate for the Student Experience. You will be expected to contribute positively to the development of the new Division and to support and lead colleagues during this period of change.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who will take a leading role in the management of an accessible and equitable institutional framework, for appeals, complaints and discipline, whilst overseeing the operation of relevant regulations, procedures and networks, across the University.
You will provide advice to senior leaders to ensure compliance with the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA) and regulatory bodies who also have an interest in student complaints, including the Office for Students (OfS), the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) and the Competitions and Markets Authority (CMA).
Working as part of a team you will take primary responsibility for the provision of accurate and timely data and analysis on appeals, complaints and malpractice, including financial information.
You will have excellent attention to detail and will maintain a personal case load whilst also managing the caseloads across the team.
The role operates within a culture of continuous change and you will proactively review and develop those activities for which you are responsible.
You will have a proven record in effectively leading and managing a team, knowledge and understanding of current issues relating to complaints and appeals handing, with a particular focus on higher education, experience of policy development and implementation and be able to provide evidence of setting and achieving clear objectives and performance goals.
