Description : JOB DESCRIPTIONWAITER PERSONMajor Goal: To provide a high standard of customer service to guarantee repeatbusiness and to maximise customer sales by selling.Reports to: Restaurant SupervisorCustomer serviceA Waiter Person is responsible for:adhering to the restaurant presentation standards, service procedures andservice times.ensuring guests are met and greeted to a standard that will deliver a positivefirst impression;ensuring guests needs and expectations are met;delivering superior levels of service to ensure repeat business;ensuring the dedication to the delivery of friendly, professional service;ensuring all guests’ requests and questions are dealt with promptly and to theguests’ satisfactionensuring that all guests are served in a timely fashion;building ongoing rapport with regular guests to ensure repeat business;monitoring the quality of food and beverages being delivered;ensuring that an appropriate level of technical skills are demonstrated to guests;ensuring the responsible service of alcohol policies are adhered toensuring that any customer complaints are handled professionally or referred tothe Restaurant Supervisor on duty.SalesA Waiter Person is responsible for:ensuring high levels of customer service standards are met to guarantee repeatbusiness;ensuring the customer average sale is maximised by using suggestive selling andup selling techniques at every appropriate opportunity;ensuring service is fast so as to maximise table turning;ensuring a thorough knowledge of wines/beverages, food and facilities beingoffered.Quality controlA Waiter Person is responsible for:acting as the last quality controller in the chain between the business and thecustomerspolitely returning any food or beverage items to the kitchen if it is notup to standard (i.e. presentation, portion, quality);adhering to beverage service procedures and ensuring there is consistency inbeverage presentation;feeding back customer comments on food and beverage to the Supervisor orManager;providing ideas as to how service or food/beverage quality can be improved.Restaurant presentation and maintenanceA Waiter Person is responsible for:maintaining their personal presentation and being appropriately groomed;performing restaurant set-up and cleaning as per agreed procedures andstandards;reporting any necessary repairs or maintenance to the Supervisor or Managerimmediately.POS and revenue controlA Waiter Person is responsible for:ensuring customer orders are accurately entered into the point of sale system;ensuring all items consumed by customers are accurately charged and paid for;ensuring the correct prices are charged for purchases and accurate changegiven;ensuring cash and credit card handling procedures are followed.Stock controlA Waiter Person is responsible for:monitoring levels of consumables and communicating to supervisors regardingordering;stocking the fridges at the end of each shiftassisting with regular stock takes;ensuring that any breakages, wastage or complementary goods are properlyrecorded.Productivity and moraleA Waiter Person is responsible for:working as part of a team to ensure that all tasks are completed in order ofpriority and within an allotted time frame;responding to and treating colleagues with professional respect and courtesy;being self motivated, able to follow directions accurately and to work as anintegral part of the team;contributing new ideas which may improve guest service or departmentaloperations;eradicating negative politics by minimising third party communication with clearcommunication throughout all staff members.maintaining a clean and pleasant work environment.Occupational health & safetyA Waiter/Bar Person is responsible for:adhering to the occupational health and safety guidelines, as outlined in theinduction manual and other policies;reporting any potentially dangerous situations or practices to the Supervisor orManager on duty immediately.Telephone handlingA Waiter/Bar Person is responsible for:ensuring the telephone is answered in a professional and efficient manner;handling any customer enquiries in a professional and helpful manner;ensuring any takeawy orders have full details, and payments are taken according to procedure;ensuring any messages for the Manager/Owner/staff are passed on in a timelyfashion.Part-time hours: 12/35 per weekJob Types: Full-time, Part-timeSalary: Up to £10.00 per hourAdditional pay:TipsBenefits:Company pensionDiscounted or free foodEmployee discountStore discountsSchedule:HolidaysMonday to FridayNight shiftWeekend availabilityCOVID-19 considerations:wear face visors, maintain social distancing when possible, sanitise hands regularlyExperience:Full Service Servers: 1 year (required)Language:English (required)Work remotely:No
