Regardless of level, you will be an integral part of the project delivery process, from inception through design, development, deployment and ongoing support. You will be working predominantly with open-source technologies and will have the opportunity to evolve the role as you develop your skills. We look for enthusiasm, potential and a desire to progress.
Day-to-day life as a developer at 7DOTS
You will work alongside designers, project managers, account managers and strategy experts to build websites, apps and campaigns for 7DOTS’ clients.
Programme, test, optimise and deploy fully responsive, dynamic, future proofed and performant websites and apps.
Writing clear, performant and re-usable code in the following areas: HTML, CSS/SASS, JavaScript (ES6+), PHP and MySQL.
Help plan and organise your own work packages to meet deadlines and milestones in collaboration with our delivery leads.
Work with colleagues to analyse client requirements, proposing scalable and flexible “future-proofed” solutions and estimating development work accordingly.
Work on various platforms including Silverstripe, Magento, WordPress as well as Git and tooling such as Webpack and Yarn package manager.
Exploring new approaches and technologies to improve our development process and commercial offering.
Respond to support tickets and client requests.
Maintain commercial awareness through all projects and think strategically.

Skills and experience
Commercial experience building CMS powered, “mobile first”, websites with a PHP based platform such as WordPress, Drupal, Silverstripe.
Good proficiency in HTML, CSS, Javascript (ES6+), PHP and MySQL and ideally experience with Git, Webpack and SASS – always looking to exploit new technologies.
A good understanding of commercial implications of deadlines and budgets.
A keen eye for detail and a robust approach to QA.
Able to analyse requirements and translate them into scalable and flexible solutions.
A good team player and communicator; happy engaging with clients when required.
Knows when to call senior colleagues for support.
Graduate developers
We are seeking IT, engineering or technically gifted graduates with a thirst to learn new technologies looking for their first step towards becoming a fully-fledged web and app developer. Potential, enthusiasm, and personality are as important to us as your technical skills.
Graduate starting salary: £21k

All roles are full time, permanent roles based in our offices in Kingston upon Thames. We are now operating hybrid home/office working with people coming in to the office for 3+ days a week.
