To learn more, visit scanhealthplan.com or follow us on social media: LinkedIn; Facebook; and Twitter.*The Opportunity*The Accountant will report to the Manager, Accounting at Corporate headquarters and will be supporting the mission and values of the Company along with the goals and direction of the Finance Department.*You Will*Perform daily cash deposits of all checks received each day and ensure each check gets deposited into the proper bank accounts. Record all banking activity to the General Ledger in a timely manner.Coordinate with Claims department regarding the status of returned claims checks and ensure that each check is resolved within required time frame. Prepare the monthly Emdeon Claims Timeliness report.Responsible for running Corporate Allocation rules at month end in Oracle. Maintain and modify allocation rules in Oracle as needed.Perform timely completion of monthly reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts including: accounts payable, payroll liability accounts, unclaimed liabilities, and others as assigned.Assist with pre-close and post-close account variance analysis.Reconcile the Intercompany accounts on a monthly basis and prepare all necessary intercompany invoices for processing by the Treasury Department.Assist with preparation of annual tax schedules and audit schedules as neededResponsible for supporting the Finance Department by managing daily accounting tasks, including vendor set-up and maintenance.Manage and reconcile the General Ledger to Fixed Asset module including asset additions, reductions, transfers and accumulated depreciation, on a monthly basis.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Actively support the achievement of SCAN’s Vision and Goals.Performs ad hoc, analysis and special projects as assigned.*Requirements*Your QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study.1+ year of general accounting experience.Understand all aspects of the accounting cycle.Strong analytical skills to support the account reconciliation, balance sheet and administrative expense analysis process.Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills; Ability to multitask.Ability to appropriately maintain confidentiality.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, required.Covid-19 Vaccination PolicyTo ensure a healthy and safe work environment, all SCAN employees will be required to be fully vaccinated by January 1, 2022.
