Description : Job Title: Accounts Payable AccountantDepartment: FinanceReports to: ControllerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSalary: $24.75 to $30 hourly DOEPosition Overview: This non-exempt full-time position is responsible for accounts payable and other accounting tasks, including assisting with month-end close and audit preparation. Cross-trains with other accounting staff to provide backup as needed.Qualifications: · A.A. or B.A. in Accounting preferred; or equivalent work experience· Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping/accounts payable experience· Demonstrated experience with computer software including Microsoft Outlook and accounting software. Abila MIP Fund Accounting Software or similar desirable· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel· Strong attention to detail while working in a high-volume deadline-driven environment· Ability to respond to vendor and internal staff inquiries with tact and poise· Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends, particularly during the annual auditEssential Job Functions: · Process invoices and daily transactions· Initiate corporate credit card download, review and approval process· Prepare check runs and make wire payments as required· Work with the Artistic team to process payments to guest artists· Update daily cash flow report with disbursements made, and track future payment obligation· Monitor aging of AP and track payment obligations to specific vendors· Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding accounts payable transactions· Reconcile bank accounts or other balance sheet accounts as assigned· Assist with other department activities for month-end closing process· Provide monthly reports to department managers, and field questions from staff and research variances to budget· Cross-train to provide backup for payroll as needed· Prepare schedules for annual audits· Process IRS 1099 and 1042 forms annually· Prepare annual allocation of prepaid expenses and related monthly journal entries· Reconcile balance sheet accounts as assignedPhysical Requirements: The physical requirements described here must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
