Description : The Data Development Officers will be responsible for design, implementation, and delivery of solutions in an enterprise data platform. The role is crucial to building the data foundation, enabling data scientists and data analysts to create new insights from data. The role will work in a data rich environment together with data analysts and data scientists.
The day-to-day role involves working with the data engineering team and supporting the development of data products in an enterprise data platform. This role involves developing data pipelines, implementing workflows, and delivering data products for key use cases. The data products have multiple stakeholders are used by a wide range of users across the organisation.
The responsibilities of the role will include:
Working in Agile methodology and problem-centric solution design
Working with business to understand the busines problem / requirements
Design, develop, construct, test and maintain data pipelines
Build robust, efficient, and reliable data pipelines
Integrating external or new datasets into existing data pipelines
Develop solutions for data acquisition
Drive the collection of new data and refinement of existing data sources
Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
Applying feature transformations for machine learning models on new data
Continuously monitoring and testing the system to ensure optimized performance
Skills and capabilities
Business skills
Business translator & modeler – Participate in the discovery and capture of data requirements from business stakeholders, translate business requirements into a working code
Ability to prioritize and drive solutions based on business outcomes
Ability to decompose a problem and deliver solutions in iterations
Experience with Agile methodology and problem-centric solution design
Interest to learn the healthcare domain
Interest to learn new tools and technologies
Technical skills
Experience developing solutions using distributed computing frameworks: Spark (PySpark, Spark SQL)
Experience with object-oriented / function-based languages: e.g. Python, Java, Scala, SQL, Javascript, etc.
Willingness and interest to learn new programming languages and tools
Experience developing ETL processes in cloud-based data warehouses (MS Azure, AWS) – certifications will be a plus
Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc) will be a plus
Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc) will be beneficial
Experience with data modelling (dimensional, data ontology) will be beneficial
