To apply for this role, please complete the application form by copy and pasting the link here into your browser http://lgiu.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/LGIU-Application-form-events-coordinator.docxThe Role The Events Coordinator develops and delivers LGIU’s extensive events programme to increase awareness of LGIU’s work supporting local government and our engagement with our members.Reporting to the Head of Engagement, this position focuses on the delivery of a variety of events, ranging in scale and location. These include in-person and online events, webinars, conferences, workshops, training sessions, awards ceremonies and more with the number of attendees ranging from smaller, more intimate discussions to larger scale events with up to several hundred attendees.Alongside your fantastic planning and organisation skills, you’ll also be responsible for the digital communication of events and engaging with our members, speakers and participants. This will include drafting attendee invitations, speaker briefings and blogs, executing marketing campaigns as well as uploading website content, social media management and budget management of events.Requirements A minimum of 3 years’ experience in delivering a variety of events (in-person and online) with solid events administration experience for either a trade association, professional body, membership body, charity sector, corporate organisation, in house or agency.You must be highly organized and an excellent communicatorAbility to travel as well as work remotelyIdeally have a qualification in events management or marketing and a background in B2BExperience in delivering digital communications to raise awareness of eventsYou are a self-starter, problem solver and motivated with a can do attitudeExperience using Mailchimp or a similar email marketing toolYou are social media savvy and use metrics to drive engagementAwards and judging process administration experience is desirableA commitment to your professional developmentPerson SpecificationExcellent event management and administrative skills, with a focus on attention to detailStrong communication skills – written, face to face, virtually and on the phoneKnowledge of the process for organising an event, from conception to completion, with demonstrable hands-on relevant events experienceWell versed on using remote learning tools and educational platforms for events, conferences, training sessions and webinars including but not limited to Microsoft Teams, Zoom and SwapcardDatabase experience including using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (the membership body uses CiviCRM)Solid understanding of Eventbrite and its tools to support eventsExperience using SurveyMonkey for events management reporting and feedbackExcellent time management and organisational skillsWork effectively under pressureDemonstrate a sound knowledge of business processes with experience of working with budgets and monitoring financesAbility to work well remotely, work well as part of a team and on individual projects without supervisionExperience of working in an agile and proactive wayBe innovative and forward thinking in general, but particularly in approaching problem solvingBe conversant with social media platforms both for communication and for monitoringAn understanding of professional membership bodies and how local government worksShow evidence of commitment to continuing professional developmentBenefitsThe role – This is a permanent full time position (35 hours per week) working for LGiU International with a salary of between £25,000 to £28,000 pa depending on experience.
