Description : Patient Engagement Advisors (PEA) is seeking a Senior Back End Developer.The candidate hired for this role will be part of a team responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining Patient Engagement Advisors’ patient care and retail applications.PEA’s software solution is collectively known as the Patient Navigation System (PNS).PNS is the foundational tool PEA employees (called Transition Specialists) utilize to perform the functions of their jobs onsite at the hospitals PEA is partnered with. Through the PNS platform, Transition Specialists facilitate care transition processes for patients, resulting in improved health outcomes.PNS consists of 3 iOS applications and 1 web application:I. 1 Web Application:· Countdown to Discharge (C2D) tool through which PEA staff manages transitions of care in a health systemII. 3 iOS Applications:· 1 – Point of Sale (POS) system for running a retail pharmacy and bedside delivery· 2 – Runner, an app that manages prescription delivery and chain of custody· 3 – PNX a web application for managing patient populations.PEA’s applications are deployed on an iPad and web, and use services implemented in Java and Clojure.PEA provides healthcare services to patients in the hospitals PEA is partnered with to ensure optimal transitions of care.The services provided to patients include: scheduling follow-up appointments, scheduling transportation to/from those appointments, organizing disease state-specific nutrition delivery services, medication fulfillment, enrollment in value/savings assistance programs, and other services that generally help patients with adherence / compliance. PEA’s services help our clients increase patient satisfaction, lower costs, and help our clients improve their patients’ outcomes.Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.· Considerable programming experience in Java, Hibernate, and Spring.· Considerable experience with AWS.· Considerable experience with GIT (or other)· Considerable experience with REST services.· Considerable experience with writing extensive unit tests.· Expertise in any of the following a plus:o Clojureo Pythono JavaScript/HTML/CSSo HL7 (and Mirth)o MSSQLo Swift/Objective-Co Retail Applicationso Point-of-Sale Integrationo Pharmacy Information Systems.Position Responsibilities· Part of a development team responsible for creation, enhancements, bug fixes and maintenance of the PNS applications.· Part of a team responsible for creating and maintaining AWS resources.· Responsible for the creation of back-end services to be consumed by front-end and web-based applications.· Enhancements to PNS to support outpatient services and other software to facilitate PEA’s healthcare services delivery model.· Responsible for helping to design and implement web services from PEA’s in-house software platform in order to integrate PEA client data to PNS.· Responsible for integration with partner applications via interface and API.· Assists with developing and establishing coding standards for the integration team.· Provides technical documentation for the PEA environment which includes the message flow for each interface, multiple schema design for interfaces and performance metrics.· With input from the CTO and other senior staff, collaborates with integration team to develop data integration solutions to meet the business needs and requirements of customer requests and projects.· Identify technical alternatives/improvements and present them to management.· Develops test data sets and testing scenarios to enable effective, repeatable testing of new application modules.· Supports/troubleshoots partner integration as appropriate.· Provides technical documentation for the PEA application releases including schema design and performance metrics.· Performs on-call duties as required responding and resolving help desk tickets and alertsPEA has been recognized as one of the fastest growing companies by Inc.
