Purpose/Description:
The Digital Services Development Manager is an integral part of the team responsible for developing and deploying services leveraging connected vehicle data that will enhance the Volvo and Mack Trucks ownership experience. This exciting position requires leadership, innovation, and management skills necessary to identify, evaluate, and bring to market new services for Volvo and Mack Trucks’ customers in North America. The candidate will be responsible to carry voice of customer throughout various forums to prioritize initiatives and deliver customer success. This position will play a key role in the digital transformation occurring in the trucking industry.
Core Responsibilities:
Drive key commercial service objectives through internal and external delivery organizations with customer success as the key goal. Focus on in-vehicle mobile applications to improve productivity for commercial drivers and provide specialty services for Mack and Volvo fleets.
Working within the Volvo/Mack community, bring to market via digital marketplace industry leading new services or enhancements of existing services using agile principals including leading relevant user acceptance testing and customer pilots.
Detail and execute the business model that supports the entertainment module services and the digital marketplace. Coordinate with Engineering on prioritization of vehicle features to support customer services through Infotainment platform.
Define process and checklist for going to market successfully with mobile applications leveraging integrated android display module. Give detailed specification requirements into IT and engineering teams for services delivered via mobile applications as well as requirements to ensure app life cycle is secured.
Secure market and customer input into digital service offer development through interaction with corporate field personnel, dealers, end customers and partner community.
Propose and initiate business development activities and projects based on field and industry feedback. Drive and coordinate business development activities cross-functionally within aftermarket and Mack & Volvo Truck.
Work with the Academy, brand marketing and other Volvo/Mack resources, educate field and key Volvo and Mack personnel of the benefits derived from the data driven services and be the subject matter expert on how they can leverage the information in their daily work.
Support field users in usage of Volvo Analytics and Mack Analytics.
Proactively benchmark competition through regular dealer and customer visits to gauge effectiveness of service offers and identify counter measures as required. Provide best practice examples and act as subject matter expert in related area of expertise.
Produce monthly reporting regarding service portfolio performance and key service KPIs
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
5 or more years of significant experience with mobile application development and/or distribution.
5 or more years of direct and relevant industry-related experience (strongly preferred)
Experience with service pricing, budgets and forecasts.
Project or product management across IT and Engineering functions.
