Key Responsibilities:
As a Junior Developer at MoJ you will have technical and people responsibilities.
Technical
with guidance, write clean, secure and well-tested code
with guidance, develop software to meet user needs
be aware of but not responsible for security
follow our engineering standards, tooling and processes
People
Help to build and maintain a diverse, inclusive culture across the development community, growing awareness, inclusivity, and balance
You will be a member of a multidisciplinary team, learning to write code and operate software in one of our product teams.

The Legal Aid Agency (LAA) is rapidly transforming and LAA Digital’s mission is to help people get the legal support they need by building world-class services that put the user first, overhauling the legacy technology that underpins our systems and making better use of data to improve our services.

You will work with user researchers, product managers, designers, business analysts, delivery managers and content specialists who share a vision for making better government through smarter use of technology.
In legal aid, the products exist to:
get legal help, advice and assistance outside of court, for civil cases
get legal advice in police stations, for criminal cases
get ongoing legal representation in court by applying for civil and criminal legal aid
get a contract to deliver legal aid services, receive bills and pay legal aid providers

Successful candidates who meet the required standard will then be invited to a 1.5 hour panel interview held via video conference.
