Description : Based at Weavers Linn, 65 Glenburn Road, PA2 8TJWeavers Linn is a small, purpose-built residential facility for adults with learning disabilities and autism. It offers personalised care and support within a bright, modern, and safe environment.To support the high quality of care that our residents enjoy, we are looking for new people to join our Weavers Linn care team, with empathy, compassion, and a drive to make a difference being the main qualities we are looking for.Experience or a basic understanding of dealing with people who have learning disabilities and / or Autism Spectrum Disorder would be an advantage, although we will fully support successful candidates with training and career development opportunities to help develop their knowledge and skills.Working as part of the Weavers Linn care team, you will assist with the day-to-day delivery and development of quality respite and support services for adults with learning disabilities.The role will include a variety of daily tasks associated with the operation of the service, such as delivering personal care, administering medication, handling petty cash, maintaining recording systems, care plans and risk assessments, as well as liaison with carers and other professionals.To be successful therefore, good communication skills will be an important attribute, with a basic knowledge of word processing packages desirable. The success of our current team is down to workers using their own initiative and being flexible, adaptable, and having an interest in working with people who have a learning disability and the capacity to learn and apply new skills.The successful candidate will be required to work to a rota, over seven days, which may include early, late, sleepovers and / or night shift.Possession of an SVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent is desirable, while the commitment and capacity to achieve this is essential.You are required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or achieve registration within six months of taking up employment.If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check. The level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
