We are looking for an experienced technologist to lead our talented software & hardware engineering teams responsible for the design, development, optimization and operation of our global web apps, mobile apps and connected devices. Reporting to the CTO you will leverage your leadership skills, technical expertise, and passion for innovation to solve mission critical problems and set the strategic direction for our engineering organization. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead and motivate a team of engineers that designs, builds, and maintains platforms and applications that are critical to Under Armour’s Digital EcosystemUnderstand business requirements and collaborate vertically and horizontally to help achieve business objectives with technical solutionsDefine metrics, methodologies and best practices for confident execution and continuous improvement of engineering disciplinesDevelop engineering leaders and teams capable of build strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to move the business towards digitally enabled growthEstimate, prioritize and plan budgets and resources to deliver engineering roadmapsStays abreast of emerging technology and industry trends acting as a thought leader across global technology functions, Under Armour’s business stakeholders and Under Armour’s executive leadershipManage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure quality output and operationsCreate programs and activities to foster team growth, engagement and culture
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services and cloud native architecture and developmentIO &, Android mobile app developmentE-commerce web development and optimizationWeb scale micro service architecture and developmentExperience with high volume messaging platforms such as KafkaDatabase architecture and designFamiliar with multiple programming languages and the ability to implement coding standards and best practicesDebugging complex problems across distributed systemsDemonstrated ability to elevate and advocate the Team’s contributions, develop business cases and gain investment support for platform expansion, and envision and effectively evangelize ‘the future’ of Under Armour’s Digital Technologies
Education And / Or ExperienceComputer science/IT/engineering bachelor’s degree, or equivalent real-world experienceRequires 15 years of engineering experienceRequires 7+ years technologyRequires 5+ years of cloud experienceRequires 5+ years delivery of customer facing applications
