Job Summary

The Learning Assistant Alliance (LAA) within the School of Education encourages applications for a Software Developer! This vital member of the LAA team will assist in addressing the software needs of a growing community. This role will code and manage a browser-based, revenue-generating, human resources software product in use by universities nationally, with tens of thousands of faculty and student users. The successful candidate will serve as development manager and product manager, with a small team of collaborators with knowledge of universities, Learning Assistant programs, and additional software developers. The Software Developer will be responsible for all aspects of product design, implementation and lifecycle management, including application architecture, schema design and database management, requirement gathering, design documentation, and development schedules. Responsibilities also include consistency to the university’s security standards for systems handling highly confidential information, including coordinating security reviews, penetration testing, and work on HECVAT documentation.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Software Development/Database Management including Requirement Specification, Design, Implementation, Testing, Deployment, & Documentation
  • Manage all aspects of product design, implementation and lifecycle management, including application architecture, schema design and database management, requirement gathering, design documentation, and development schedules.
  • Serve as development manager and product manager, within a small team of collaborators with knowledge of universities, Learning Assistant programs, and software development.
  • Code and manage a browser-based, revenue-generating, human resources software product in use by universities nationally, with tens of thousands of faculty and student users.
  • Manage Support Dashboard, Resolve Issues, & Delegate Tasks Check support dashboard daily, open and assign cases, and connect with clients to resolve issues.

What You Will Need

  1. Full stack web developer.
  2. SQL and relational database design and management, including MySQL and MariaDB.
  3. Php.
  4. JQuery.
  5. HTML.
  6. CSS.
  7. JavaScript. Desire to work closely with a team and provide customer and user support.
